Re: Rear window beading.
My Z has the flap you mention and the beading just provides an extra seal, you could get rid of the beading and find a product that would make the flap look better

Re: Rear window beading.
I have just had the steering rack overhauled + other work and a full service which has cost quite a packet and normally I would not hesitate to get the new window etc but my circumstances have changed with time, the market down here has not been in favor of Z’s so I may just sit on it for a while an...

Rear window beading.
Anyone had issues with rear window beading coming off on 2002 roadster? It hides the join between window and hood, mine has just started and effects about 20-25mm at the moment I intend to restick with super glue and hope the plastics are compatible with the glue. Any advice appreciated.

Re: Power steering system restoration/service
I realise that this is an old post but it caught my eye because my Z3 is with my local repair man (not a BMW dealer) it failed a WOF (warrant of fitness) because of a leak from the steering rack, they will remove rack and send for repairs at an estimated cost of approx. NZ$ 1900.00. I cant sell with...

Hi Guys, I have a basic question on my 2002 Z3 roadster. Re: Exhaust emission values have deteriorated
Just had a run and the Z behaved OK no misfiring on hard acceleration or when maintaining a steady 100kph (our limit) also no vibrations from engine, idle seems a bit rougher than normal but does not stall as it did when it had vanos problems at 5000k it has now done 52.000 k. Warning light still on.

While taking the Z3 for its annual WOF my wife had a warning light come so I have checked handbook and it said, “Exhaust emission values have deteriorated” I should explain that the car spends most of the year in the garage and last year traveled only 250k. Am not convinced about the indicator on the battery, unless I've a duffer. The Carcoon I keep the car in winter months comes with a built-in constant trickle charger which is always on. The car starts first turn of the key but on checking the battery indicator it's either black, or possibly blank. ...

In its day the "E" was way ahead of the rest it had independent rear suspension on a production car, all Aluminium Body Jaguar were one of the leaders in that, and it was a looker, its predecessor the XK range were very old school in comparison.

My Coupe automatically lowers the windows about 10mm when opening the door and of course raises them when the door is shut all other window operations when entering are controlled via the key.

Re: Window drop with hood operation ?
I can confirm that you just have to have the windows down on the Coupe to get in and out as they have long doors and steeply curved side windows which severely limit access, in normal side by side parking it is a real hassle for those of advanced years to get in and out. The Z on the other hand pres...
