hi,
i've the same problem. i found few companies recalibrating the speedo and reprogramming the ignition etc., but you'd have to searchg the web.

i've just replaced my speedo (from km/h to mph) and it's off and the rev counter doesn't work at all. apparently there are garages specialising in speedo and odometer adjustment (software and mechanical if the gears are broken). you'd have to search the net for example: http://www.dashtechservices.c...

m3 covertible would be "prakticalish" :D and quick, but i'd keep the z3. what a beautiful car you've got there. and that 3.0 isn't slow too. forget about japanese cars. they're great, but it's a different cattle of fish compared to bmw.

p.s. cut on food and go for Z8! :wink:

you mean xenon? they sell "xenon" bulb on ebay, but the real xenon upgrade kit is quite pricey. i'm not sure if those "xenon" bulbs from ebay give you anything more than a dim blue boyracy tint. or perhaps the new generation of those bulbs really works? anyone? :?:

no no, head unit is a sony cd/mp3 4x50Watt, which isn't fitted yet - i can't remove the old kenwood cd - it seems to be stuck and one of the panels surrounding the centre console doesn't want to come out neither, so i can't get an access to the back :head: i think i'm gonna need help of a specialist...

that's what i was thinking about. and perhaps fit a couple of small 4" speakers behind the seats? i don't have a subwoofer, as my car is an old late 1995 (two midrange behind the kick panel + tweeters and something else in the doors). still can't find the amp :roll: :roll:

maxaluna, have you got loads of stick from police for that plate? i love old style plates, but can't afford hefty fines. my dad's car had black and silver plate SIL 2551 thirty something years ago, and i'd love to find similar, but... you know... my car isn't an antique. :wink:

The whole thing must have taken about 4 to 5 hours, of which at least 2-3 hours were wasted with the initial failed zipping up

the best place to get sensors from apart from the stealer i used to buy sensors of ebay for other cars (ca. £20 for a sensors worth more thna twice the money), but it could be difficult with zed, as there's not many parts for them on ebay. there's none right now. certain bits is much easier to find...

chrome bits

fitted today chrome handle covers (£18), chrome number plate surrounds (£11) and retrofit boot lock surround (£6 from bmw-chromteile.de). little money spent, but the car looks much better. lock surround is a pain to fit, though. i had to drill a wider hole in the boot, disconnect central locking rod...
