We certainly found it perfectly adequate however you need to have a Z3 with factory fitted roll hoops.

And it's goodnight from me.....

After 2.5 years of Z pleasure, I traded it in on Saturday. My first soft-top sports car has been a tremendous amount of fun the highlight being the trip to Le-Mans in 2006 followed by a weeks camping around the Loire Valley. I'd just like to say thanks for all the info and help given to me by everyo...

Had a call today from the BMW garage that I will trade myZ3 in if I don't sell it privately. They have decided to raise their trade in value by £1000 as the Z3's are selling better than the Z4's

Nice job Fraser. I saw the same car on Friday when we were at Grassicks checking out the grey X5 3.0d which was 3 cars to the right of where the Z1 was parked.

I wish we were in the market for another 2 seater - i'm jealous!

Enjoy the car.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am now however also considering a 3.0i as well. I know that the fuel consumption is worse but I will only be doing 7.5k miles a year at the most in this car (my 118d's for the daily commute). Therefore for 7500 miles / year, 85 litre tank, petrol £1 / litre, diesel £1....

Welcome to the forum. My suggestion would be to test drive both derivatives before you make a decision.
As far as running costs, there isn't really much of a difference between the models (even mpg), possibly insurance costs of the 2.0 will be better on the wallet though.
