Re: Shantybeater's Titanium S54 - BMWCar Mag+Xenon Retrofit
Looking great! Received my brackets today and can't wait to get started. Do you think it would give a smarter look if you put some aluminium foil behind the reflector, to match the high beam? I see you didn't plug the adjuster back in? The chrome trim needs to make way for the angel eyes, or do you ...

Try a freezer spray, or one with a penetrating fluid.

Old set is still fully functioning, but the brackets Skylar made are superior to my own, and I like the Bi-xenon function. Will be upgrading to chrome rings and Osram Xenarc bulbs at the same time. Besides that, i'm planning to make six more sets for the Dutch community. The stage III kit comes comp...

The only electric adjustment is manual from inside the car, i'm not sure how this differs from the US? Well, I have seen models with this little plug instead of the height adjuster, and the kit simply replaces this plug with a screw. Can't say for sure yet, but it seems you have to install the pivo...

If it's coming from directly under your steering wheel, and can be best discribed as a grinding noise i guess, it's most likely the slipring inside. It's basicly a long strip of plastic that winds and unwinds when you turn the wheel. It dries out and causes friction between the layers, leading to sq...

Was your friend's one of the newer 2.8s? Not sure, but BMW lists both plugs, even for the older models: http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/Z3/Roadster/Europe/Z3_2.8-M52/LHD/N/1996/july/browse/engine_electrical_system/ignition_coil_spark_plug/ It's essentially the same plug, but provides a better spa...

This is a great mod for the experienced DIYer. Although not easy to do and far from plug and play, I'm happy with the end result. It gives the car a new fresh look, and a nice beam pattern. If u don't like to chop up the internals of your original headlights, the ebay ones are a great alternative. T...

Fitted the Michelins today. First thing I noticed was that the sidewalls felt alot stiffer, there's no movement in them whatsoever. Went for a short trip around the block, and didn't need a lot of road to feel the (positive) change in steering response. Michelin obviously had to make some compromise...

I can still exchange them at this point. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the GY's are bad or anything, the ride quality increased dramaticly. But instead of following my instinct, I bought the ones that got the highest scores in all the magazines, and from what I've read on different forums. Most ...

Ordering a set of michelin PS2's, screw those GY's. Could I have your opinion on the following: I can choose between 245 and 255 in the back. Will 255 have any effect on handling? (steering wise, not grip) It seems Falken (452) makes 245 35 17 tires. Anyone on here who 's running lower profile...

Found this cool website where people can leave comments and rate their tire.
http://www.tyretest.com/pkw_sommerreifen/index.html
Remember, the lower the number, the better the score.
Falken 452 does really well.

Projectors and HID are two different things. HID (high intensity discharge) refers to the bulb being used, standard cars come with halogen bulbs. As u can see on the photo I posted, projectors (left) give a better cut-off line, which blocks out any glare, that could blind uncoming traffic. This is w...
