It seems like it should be possible to put a small subwoofer in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat?
And/or I wonder if https://www.morelhifi.com/product/virtu ... bon-2-way/ would fit? Quite pricey but supposed to sound amazing.

Re: Need some panels and sourcing advice
from what I've seen the parts catalogue websites such as bmwfans.info and realoem.com will tell you when a part has gone obsolete at the time of the website extracting the data from the official BMW ETK system. There's little to no clarity as to how often they're updated. BMW may also "unobsole...

i can’t imagine many dealers, if any, carry Z1 specific parts but they should be able to order them. Some can perhaps not be bothered but that’s another matter.

Hi Michael, good to hear from you.
The astonishing thing is that they still have phenomenal grip. In the dry braking is so good it’s difficult to get the ABS to kick in.
The car doesn’t see much use - 3000 miles in 10 years!!
The car is stored in a dark garage when not in use.

I go through this debate in my head every year - should I replace the Goodyear Eagle F1s on my Z1? They're dated from roughly 2002 and they look absolutely fine. No cracks or the like on the sidewalls or between the tread blocks. They seem to stick to the tarmac as good as always. No bulges in the s...

What I found on mine was that the pin was binding and the spring couldn't overcome the friction. I can't remember what I did - might have sanded it down very slightly and/or lubricated it. That seemed to have cured it.

To the best of my knowledge you can’t actually get any useful information from that diagnostic connector. It's not unusual particularly as the weather cools. Have you actually checked it or do you just believe it to be OK because the car started fine over the summer?
For an engine to start and run it needs fuel, spark and compression. When fault finding it's best to make a minimum number of assumptions but just to start checking things methodically.
