The flourescent vests are not compulsory in Germany, but are recommended. They are compulsory in Austria though, so I have them anyway as it's only an hour's drive away and I visit fairly often. It's only a matter of time before Germany makes them compulsory. Just one point though...there must be on...

The first winter after I got here (2000/01) we had lows of -35C in Feb  Usually we get the first heavy snows around mid-Nov, and then the snow will stay unt...

Flat Battery - What To Look Out For Now?
Last weekend I put the hardtop on, and in doing so I think I must have inadvertently caught the switch for the interior light, because this weekend the car is completely dead :head: I have managed to jump start it from another vehicle and all seems to be OK. The radio code works OK, clock is reset a...

I've been a Tom Tom user for a while now and been quite happy. I've now changed to a Garmin Nuvi 660FM. The 'jury's still out' first impressions are that Tom Tom is more user friendly but that might be that I'm just not au-fait with my new one yet. One big bonus of the FM is that you can load your ...

The latest versions of the Tomtoms (520/720 and ONE v3) have a feature called MapShare which actually lets you update the maps if you find them in error. You can then share that update with other users (and get their updates). http://www.tomtom.com/page.php?Page=Mapshare I have one of the original G...

Becker HU Replacement
I have a BMW-branded Becker BE 4769 HU. I really like it because it matches the instrument lights, it controls the CD changer and it has satnav. However, I've been looking at the newer Becker units, like the 7944 or 7950, with Bluetooth, iPod and all that good stuff. Does anyone know if one of these...

I've got a BMW-badged Becker Traffic Pro (not sure of the model number - maybe 4771?). Looks stock, works with the CD changer, has navi (which over-rides the radio/CD for instructions) and has a nice orange display which matches the dash. The navi uses a CD slot hidden behind the removal fascia. htt...

Brake as little as possible in a kart...they are auto and take a long time to get up to speed. Better to moderate your speed via the throttle. Sticky window
A couple of days ago my driver's side window stopped going all the way up with the roof closed. It would close most of the way, then drop back down a couple of inches, as though it had hit something in the way and the sensors stopped it. Holding the button down would close it properly. This morning ...

No $tealership in the UK has any of this left. Apparently. They sell tubes of Gummi Pfleger at my local Obi (DIY store). I've searched everywhere for some Einszett Gummi Pflege to waterproof the seals. My local dealer had never heard of the stuff and everywhere online is out of stock. I've found it at a few US online shops at around 7 USD, but the P&P makes it not worth just getting one. Does anyone know where I ...
