Re: Solar trickle charger

I have my car hooked up to a battery conditioner all winter, connected via the battery contacts under the bonnet from a lead which drops down from the garage ceiling. If you feed the cable through into the engine bay at the front of the wheel arch, there is ample room to close the bonnet and leave t...

Re: Boot carpet

When I bought my Z3 in April 1999, the CD changer housing had just been introduced as standard and I had the section of boot liner from the previous year's model fitted before I took delivery because I saw that it would be a problem fitting my Samsonite hard shell suitcase in the boot. I still have ...

Re: First Test Drive of a 2.8 Z3

Have you checked whether the car has twin Vanos? Many people think that it only came in with the facelift models, but this isn't the case. My April 1999 Z3 2.8 has twin Vanos. I have had the car from new, and it is just about to go over the 70,000-mile mark. The engine and transmission have given me...

Something of a development. Cooper Malton told me categorically that the door pull was not available as a separate item, and that I would have to order the complete inner door. However, after trawling the web, I found the individual part number 51418398733 was available online at a cost of £85.03 fr...

Door pull broken

Three years ago the passenger side interior door pull, where the upper end screws into the inner door (the screw behind the blank plate which corresponds to the door mirror switch on the driver's side), broke away from the door when the plastic bracket surrounding the screw hole failed. One wonders ...

As you look at the car from the rear, the right hand side of both tailipes is slightly proud of the left hand side, so that they appear to follow the line of the bodywork, but they are not slanted from top to bottom.

The next vehicle we saw after that was a beat-up bus taking around 25 hairy-bottomed Scotsmen in kilts to the Baltasound Hotel, the most northerly pub in Britain, as part of a weekend-long stag 'do.' Apparently they had a £2,000 kitty.
