Re: bmw z3m analogue clock Not working
It may be worth trying J Morrow of West Kilbride ( 01294-829 839 ) They do clock repairs and restorations. Ok, it's 12v not 240, but I assume principles are similar. At worst they may be able to recommend someone. Also, Petcossie's right; I do remember seeing something showing you one pulled apart t...

Re: bmw z3m analogue clock Not working
I know this particular clock...
it either ceases to work or goes very slow if the car doesn't get much use. Weird, but it's what happened when I had it. A good few runs and it goes just fine AND keeps time ! Mind you, maybe it's just knackered by now Trust everything else is still ok

Re: Dead Battery.
Have has a CETEK for years, can safely be left on all winter. Currently ( no pun intended ) I don't use it since the charger that comes with the Carcoon indoor cover is a clever little beast; if it's brought your battery up to speed and is still connected, if there is a power cut - we've had a coupl...

Re: Dead Battery.
Am not convinced about the indicator on the battery, unless I've a duffer. The Carcoon I keep the car in winter months comes with a built-in constant trickle charger which is always on. The car starts first turn of the key but on checking the battery indicator it's either black, or possibly blank.

I've a roadster for fun ( ex-John Wayne ) and as a daily driver a Chrysler 300C 3.0 diesel touring. Magnifcently comfortable, not even a squeak or rattle after nearly 3 years and, despite it's apparent size, very nimble on the road as well as reasonably economical

Half a sec guys. Remember that the pre-heater - I've got an old one but not fitted it as yet - is for the water; not the oil. It may help a bit, but I think you'd be better off withone of the stick-on pad sytems you can get for heating the sump. Can't remeber the name off-hand but it can be googled

My experience of these is very positive. Although the Z is tucked-up in an air-chamber for the winter I bought a set of these for my daily runner which is a Chrysler 300C auto Touring, which is also rear-wheel drive. Pretty interesting in the snow and ice we've had up here in Scotland. I have to say...

As to it dropping below 20mpg - I doubt it. I've had my M for some months now, and on the few occasion I've measured consumption ( brim-to-brim ) I've been getting 24/26 mpg over a mixture of good a-roads and winding b roads. I've havn't been tootling about, but clearly I'm not driving it hard enoug...

I certainly won't sacrifice the 'lower' speed fun and handling etc for the sake of 'higher' speed stability via mods such as lowering and splitters, and it's good to have one's suspicions clarified by yourselves. that said, point about steering/suspension component generally is also one well made. a...

Have noticed that at around 100mph+ ( private road, naturally ) the front end/steering starts to get fairly light. Standard suspension, 19" wheels, front brace, tyres - 235/35/zr P7000s, perfect nick and at a recommended pressure of 33 psi Given my lack of development experience, what's the con...

Duff belt or pump or what?
Afternoon all; I've the s50 engine. When parked but started and running from cold there's a rhythmical 'zizzing' noise coming from the front of the engine; not quite a belt 'squeal' of the old fan-belt slipping squeal or even the shriek of a bearing from something that's dying. If I spray the genera...
