Re: Rear Window extrusion problems New Zealand
Yes you are right on the button there Jaxx. I have removed all of the rubber extrusion and it does look like it was joined to the frame. There is also a length of thin wire glued in to the rubber along the top edge. It looks as though a new window is on the cards. I think I will go for a genuine part...

Re: Rear Window extrusion problems New Zealand
I meant to say, I have had the car since new and haven't needed to replace the hood as yet so I presume it is original.

Re: Rear Window extrusion problems New Zealand
Thank you all for your interest and help. I am still confused as to where the extrusion is glued as I can lift the canvas edge of the hood to expose the plastic window and the extrusion seems to be glued to the canvas edges. I have (hopefully) uploaded photos. In Img 1098 you can see where I have li...

Re: Rear Window extrusion problems New Zealand
Yes, not sure about the fabric trim. It would be nice to keep it looking almost original. I have found a possible extrusion that may look OK but have heard that gluing things on to the hood edge is messy and could spoil the hood. We will keep in touch with developments. Also have seen this add. http...

Hi all, Have any of our New Zealand Zders had to replace the rear window in their Z3, either with an import window or local. My top is good and window quite serviceable but the rubber trim on the outside is perished and falling off. Is there an extrusion or part available or a recommendation of a co...

I have to agree Robert, my original BMW battery lasted 16 years so I replaced it with a BMW battery again (hoping to get another 15 years :shrug :shrug). Hope you have got your oil service sorted. Have had the OEM mesh type for 16 years. Always leave it on, just zip the middle panel down when the hood is up (not very often) for better vision. Still looks very smart, does the job and I can reach both of the back lockers with ease. Cheers.

It's MOT. Passed, but needs a new handbrake cable. Not sure what it is with my cars and their handbrakes at the moment - the button was stuck in on the one on the Sprite meaning that the ratchet didn't work - think I have fixed it now, just need some warmer weather to get it put back on the car. Every garage or tyre shop I go into has a tyre gauge and or pump. They all read different pressures. I have a reasonably priced gauge and a tyre pump at home as well and they both read differently. Maybe I am being pedantic but how can I check which gauges are reading right so I can allow for the in...

Blanking plate for the soft top actuating switch panel (I dropped the original when fixing the soft top switch). And two bottles of BMW car wash. It is cheaper and better than most others available in New Zealand, so I use it on all my vehicles.
