I went for Hankook, not so many choices around and when we talk about tyres during the 25th anniversary in Munich Hankook came up.

Re: Open door policy

A former owner told me his technique (he wasn't aware of the overide with the key).

Open the trunk, move upward the separation between the trunk and the front, use a broom or something long enough to reach the inside trigger.

Re: BMW Centenary Celebration

I've been away from a while from my beloved Z1 :( I have a lot of problem with my back and I'm about to get heavy surgery on the spine. It was very difficult for the last 18 months but hopefully in a couple of months I will drive and ride again :) If one of you happens to be around the French Rivier...

I don't know for the centenary but BMW organized a couple of years ago the 25th anniversary of the Z1 via the international Z1 club in Munich.
Best event for the Z1 ever, I think there was a thread by the time.

Re: Door control Module

Sorry to hear about this problem. As you already figured it out this problem is about to become a nightmare due to the unavailability of this part. We talked about it during the 25th birthday in Munich and it seems depending on the symptoms it is fixable ... or not (50% of chance, don't ask me more)...

Just received the part from Germany. 1st impression is very good, you really feel the "made in Germany" thing.

Perfect replacement, this is the least expected considering the price.

Will have to check if the top rot paint matches with the rest of the body panels at day light.

Hello benslick,

I had the chance today to take a ride with my Z1.

Always a pleasure to drive it on the french riviera.

It was a bit cold today (well for me it is like 16°C ;) ) but doors and roof were off from Villeneuve-Loubet to Nice ;)

Hope yours will be fixed soon.

I was so upset this morning that I forgot what a trap means in reality :D

This is a great piece (a bit expensive for what it is in my opinion).

In fact I was looking for an alternate version but auco.de doesn't provide it anymore.

I may try to put my father on it to fix the broken part.

Hello,

We all know it is fragile.

I was looking for a steel part to reinforce it but can't find it in auco.de website :(
