What's my Z3 3 litre worth?
Hi, Haven't posted for a while, I've succumbed to the dark side and bought a Boxter S so am selling the Zed. it's a Dec 2000 model with 26,000 documented miles, fsh and I've owned it last 4 years. Was cover car for April 07 on the forum's calendar. Black with black electric leather seats, aluminium ...

Electric seat failures are a common problem, there are 2 motors - one for up down and one for backwards forwards. The back forward motor is around £80 plus fitting but first make sure it hasn't come off the mount. I used an indy autoelectrician which was cheaper than main dealer. If the motor has go...

I'm with Pingu - not sure it's good for a car not to be driven. A car that has been regularly driven and serviced on the dot is a better proposition. You see some ridiculously low mileage cars in Jersey but I don't think it's healthy. Also lots of stop start driving wears the clutch/gearbox/brakes m...

I don't doubt it's possible to fit a Turbo - BMW did it with the 3 litre to make the 335I ( well 2 turbo's actually ) I'd be careful about fitting anything that has not been well proven, and I don't mean good E Bay feedback. £499 is cheap, the superchargers cost from £2500 plus fitting approx 8 - 10...

Sounds like the motor, there are 2 motors one for back/forward and one for up down. I've had to replace both recently, not as bad as you might think. The back forward one was £65 and the up down about £100 plus labour. A common fault I understand, you don't need to use a dealer I went to an autoelec...

Yeah I've got a 360, gave up waiting for the PS3 release when it slipped again. 360 has more games at better prices and only marginally poorer performance. It's a no brainer - perhaps when the PS3 has a couple of years behind it and more games I might take a look. Interesting how Microsoft have take...

Looking to buy a laptop - advice
Hi, I'm looking to buy a laptop, it'll need to play and burn DVD's have a decent sized hard drive as I plan to use it for watching movies. Doesn't need to be too top end as I'll only be e mailing, surfing, and basic office functions. I've been looking for something with 2 gig of Ram, min 120 gig har...

Chaps will work fine, one thing to do first - check who the seller banks with. Most people have several accounts with a number of banks, if they have an account with the same bank as you they can pay in a cheque which will clear immediately. I've never sold cars other than privately - never bought a...

If fuel consumption has increased, perhaps it is due to your use of more throttle to hear the intake noise! You may have a point Mike - I love the sound of the intake between 5-6000 revs. Extra fule consumption is a small price to pay for the noise. Bit like a go faster stripe - it may not improve ...

Oil temp and temp guage are not the same thing, temp guage is water temp in the rad. I'd ignore the oil light and check the dipstick, there may be a fault with the sensor. Personally I would tend to use BMW coolant or any other that meets it's requirements. For eg if it was oil it would be LLO1, use...

I have the same car as you and also typically drive for short distances.I've just checked, I have a very small amount of mayonaise on the oil cap, I would say this was consistent with condensation. You appear to have much more and I've had that on previous cars and it's been the head gasket. You sho...

Why did they put it there?
If you are offended by potentially critical comment regarding your Zed read no further. Had my Zed for a couple of years now and genuinely love it but a couple of ergonomic points really hack me off. Why on earth did they put the display for time/temp/mpg below the stereo. everytime I want to read i...

E Bay feedback - anyone else had enough of this?
I hope I don't start a non Z based discussion but this section is supposed to be for off topic chat. Having got my first negative feedback on E Bay in over 220 transactions I've noticed an annoying trend. Mine was for leaving negative feedback for a seller whose product simply didn't work. He asked ...

I honestly have no idea what the donor car was for the yellow one but the blue one's a Ford Ka ka. That 60bhp pushrod engine's a corker, quad exhausts perhaps a bit ambitious.
