roofis303, I am from Aberdeen and have seen this mess around town. I have an M roadster and was disgusted to see his failed attempt and trying to make a cheap version! It has home made quad exhuasts and evrything! Including chicken wire between then as 'cool' mesh! I remember he also has a big shiny...

Ok went out of the office at lunch time today and drove into middle of knowhere so alarm wouldn't upset anyone. Followed instructions again as follows: 1)opened bonnet and turned siren on 2)closed bonnet 3)removed control module from alarm box (car locked itself as I removed it and siren went off) 4...

When i bought my car, there was no key fob. On further looking I noticed the box in the engine bay was switched off. As such I had no fob and do not know if the alarm was armed or disarmed. I have since bought a second hand fob and would like to programme it in. One thing I hve noticed whilst removi...

Oh and I have an LED on the dash next to the dials. It has always changed between constant and flashing when I'm either driving or parked up. In order to drive around I have just switched the engine bay box back to off at present. Does this key switch off the alarm or just silence the siren? At pres...

Just thought I would update. Clutch release bearing failed last week and had to get AA lorry 120 mile back to Aberdeen. Spoke to A.W Autotech on sat and booked it in last min, i.e. with Kevin. Good work deserves praise, so just to say very happy with the service overall, from both Kevin and the othe...

Kevin - Tredwise Indi
There was a chap called Kevin who worked at Tredwise in Aberdeen. He was highly recommended on this forum as an independent M specialist. on seeing comments on him here I used him to service my M roadster which I was very happy with. I have just called Tredwise to ask him what oil he used in my M to...

Not sure if this has all been sorted now or not but thought I may suggest. My M got a bit unsteady at around 70mph. The problem was a snapped spring. Now this sounds drastic but it was just the very tip of the spring that was snapped off (common BMW fault). This mean't that the car felt stable at mo...

I will see what I can do for you regarding photos. However simply put you do the following: 1) remove the old front strut from the M 2) drill a small hole in base of the strut (a small hiss comes out as the gas is released) Pushing the shock up and down may times gets all the oil out and makes next ...

Can I just make it clear to everyone on this forum that I tried to use this company: www.mytyres.co.uk They delivered the tyre to the billing address instead of the delivery address (80 miles away!), (this address was supplied on the orginal order and they even phoned me the next day to confirm). I think you have missunderstood. If you get new bilsteins then you are supplied with a new front strut on which you mount your spring. If you get the koni's then they only supply you with an insert for the front strut (the actual damper bit). Therefore there are no real modifications to the suspensi...

It is from euro performance that I have ordered the shocks. Standard bilsteins were £115 each for the rear while koni were £73. You can see why I decided to delve into the unknown! I have only ordered rear shocks at present as these are the only ones that have failed and at present this week tax, se...

Has anyone fitted koni shocks? I have just noticed my shocks are gone (did wander why it felt a bit unstable on hard acceleration!) Anyway I have found koni's are cheaper that standard bilsteins! Hence I am planning on buying some tomorrow! Just wandered if anyone had any thoughts?

Z3M Remote Locking?
I have a 1998 Z3M. Should I have remote locking? I believe that they came with an alarm and indeed I do have the sensors inside the front windscreen however I dont have remote locking. I can not believe that BMW made a £42k car and didnt give it remote locking!!! Maybe my fob has been lost over time...
