Re: Tyre pressure icon flashing

I upset the system on a friend's S54 when I evened the tyre pressures up before a run. It took me a while to figure out the reset procedure from the manual. Pretty sure the system uses the wheel rotation sensors, so it is a change in pressure of one of the tyres that triggers it, rather than the act...

Have you got fuel to the cylinders? If it's not firing, I'd expect the plugs to be wet.

I've also been looking at the ETM and it looks like fuse F33 is common to all those. How did you test the fuse? A visual inspection is not enough. I've seen fuses that look good, but are in fact blown. You need to check it with a multimeter. You can also try replacing the fuse, but this may burn out...

None of the normal road wheels will fit in the boot. BMW supplied a plastic bag to put the flat in to keep your seats clean. Do not be tempted to put the wheel on your passengers lap. A girl was killed when a damaged tyre exploded.

Good info. Thank you for posting. If memory serves, the original 15" wheel rim is NLA, so if you are replacing, you'll need to go to 16" anyway. This is what I did a few years ago, as my rim was badly corroded. I'd also recommend coating the rim (not the tyre!) with something like waxoyl. ...

They are all the same physical fitment, but there are a few subtle differences between them. The UK pre-facelift 1.9 had sidelight bulbs in the headlight - other models had them in the bumper. There are also some bulb differences. It might be that the physical fitting for the bulbs is the same, just...

The switch is in the boot lock, operated by the conical pin on the body. Often people mistake the plungers either side for the switch, but they just lift the lid when the lock button is pressed in. There can only be a limited number of things it can be. First guess is that the system has a leak and the gas has escaped. E10 petrol contains 10% ethanol (the clue is in the name). It shouldn't cause any problems for fuel injected cars like ours. The main issues are degradation of rubber fuel hose, which I'm pretty sure we don't have, and the formation of ethanoic acid as ethanol is hygroscopic. The latter is an issue ...
