Re: Battery Drain and Fuse 31 ?
Thanks for that. Fuse31 also has the immobiliser so I'd better leave it in place and look for the component fault I don't seem to have an alarm siren in the engine bay, anywhere else to look - were all pre facelift (1.9s) fitted with one ? Battery Drain and Fuse 31 ?
Z not used over Christmas, so no surprises with a discharged battery. However I was not expecting a 230mA current drain ! Looked at the usual suspects, boot loom wiring, boot light bulb, pulled fuses for seat motors with no success but - Removing fuse31 current drain dropped to 2mA So can I remove f...

SUCCESS !
The broken cap came off fairly easily with the aid of a wrecking bar (no drilling required)
I just needed to make sure that the tool was placed to lever under the metal collar rather than the cosmetic plastic cover.

Re: Petrol Cap Stuck On
No it's the basic model without the locking flap. The BMW fuel cap uses the ignition key to lock/release.
If someone could remove theirs and tell me which side the locking tab is located (so I know where to start drilling) that would be great.

Wifey (currently 60 miles away and out of petrol !) has just called to say that the (original BMW) fuel cap won't unlock with the key.

Intermediate Loss of Power - 1.9
Possibly a pointless post as this has only been described to me by the wife, but now happening to her on a 30 mile commute.
Loss of power while at cruising at steady speed. That's all I've been told, car then recovers to normal.
Plugs were changed about 2000 miles ago.
Any thoughts ?

Don't forget to check if the drain cup behind each seat is blocked up.
Can be difficult to locate and can only be seen with the roof up.
One way if you have long arms, is to sit in the car sideways with the door open and feel behind the backrest. The cup should be dry,.
