That Jag was phenominal. Doesn't require a dozen button presses to get full power, and if you catch Clarkson's original review of the M5 on Dave, he said the gearbox was horribly jerky at low speeds, the steering was too heavy, the indicators were annoying, the styling was brash and the the iDrive ...

I'm not a huge fan of the current diluting (IMO) of the M brand with the MSport models (even though I own one! - although it only has the M badges on the wheels and steering wheel, which would look worse if I took them off) - it's like bunging a load of Alpina badges on a bog standard model. The M b...

What's so funny about the M not being worth the money? The performance isn't that much above the top of the range 'normal' model - used may be a different option, but, it's certainly the case when they are new. Prime example of this is the stated power and performance of the 135i and 335i compared t...

I don't see how it's a money saving thing - the dealer loses out! I've never quite grasped the reasoning behind the service intervals of certain cars in certain parts of the world. For example, Mercury Mystique (100k miles) vs Ford Mondeo (12k miles). How can one be 8 times the other when they were ...

I had a 740i with a 'sealed for life' auto gearbox and found that changing the oil and filters after a few years made a world of difference to the shifting - it was much smoother, not that it was bad to start with, but, there was a definite change in it. The 'sealed for life' boxes still have a fill...

Unless the offset is different on the Z3M (which I'm pretty certain it's not), all E36 M, E46 M and Z4 M wheels have the same offsets.
Looking at www.realoem.com, I'm certain the Z3M has the same offset.

Asda are doing XBox360 Arcades for £97 this weekend. Don't have a hard drive (they have what is, in effect, a 256MB memory card built in), but, they are the latest Jasper version with the latest chipset and lower power usage. Picked one up as a spare, but, based on the new quieter version, I've swap...

IMO: E30 M3 is the only M3 worth having. It genuinely was a road-going version of a race car. All subsequent M3's are in effect, just top of the range 3 series. It lost it's way and became a marketing exercise. All of the M5's have retained their purpose - a fast, subtle executive car. There are a l...

Actually budget didn't factor into it at all - I could have bought any BMW from the current range. But, the M wasn't £10k more of a car.c_w wrote: As I said earlier and you agree, it's purely budget that dictates what you buy. I was thinking last year about a 3.0Si Z4C as the Z4MC was a bit too pricey!

I'd disagree - I've never had any problems keeping up with other people in Z3M's or Z4M's - on the road or on the track in my 3.0si, and neither has Dario in his 3.0i. When I was looking at buying mine, I tried both models, and 99% of the time the M is no quicker and offers no real benefit over the ...

a bit of a different perspective, I went from the z4 3.0 to z4 3.2. Whist the z4m is a better all round car than the 3.0l - it's not worth the extra I'm paying/paid over my old 3.0L IMO. Yes the power is amazing, but then the 3.0L was a capable engine as well and offered 90% of usable power as the ...
