You may have made the classic mistake of hitting the gas before you had cleared the white lines, so easy to do. In the damp, check in front, pull out then accelerate, result, no tank slapper and an easy overtake. Accelerate while you're still overlapping the car in front and the nearside wheel spins...

Observation, I ride a motorcycle as well as driving a high performance car, so see every day people that are not aware of whats going on around them, overtaking without using mirrors, pulling out from junctions and looking the WRONG way as they set off, or simply being more interested in the in-car ...

Ok, my suspicions are confirmed. The front end of the car has been rebuilt from the suspension turrets forward. It's been a damn good job and nearly caught me out. I think the "coupe" on the log book has been a cockup when it was imported new, but the lack of engine number and very slightl...

Roadster/coupe - what's on your V5?

Having looked at a 1998 Z3 2.8 at the weekend, the V5 registration document shows it registered as a Coupe when it is in fact a Roadster (BMW have confirmed this to be the case). Does anyone else own a Roadster that's shown as a Coupe on the V5? Also on the same car, there is no VIN showing in the p...

The right car??

Could be a long one, SORRY. Thought I'd found a nice 2.8 for the wife, BUT!! First thing was the VIN # I thought this was visible through the bottom of the windscreen (near side) found one stamped into the rear of the engine compartment is this normal? No engine number on the log book. Bonnet didn't...

Thanks Guys, it's starting to look like a case of "who's had em" Guess if they've been owned as "company cars" then people haven't taken proper care of them during the winter. I find it hard to believe that these cars, given the cost of them new, aren't washed and waxed every week...

If you want to look at a cheap upgrade, fit new standard discs all round. You'll find em on Ebay for around £25 a corner "Mintex". Then fit something like "GreenStuff" pads, they'll bite harder than the standard, fade much less and offer better feel when hot and they'll cut down ...

No experience of the Z3's brakes (Still looking for a car) but I can tell you that you'll be pushing your luck if you uprate your rears without matching with the front. Different materials in the upgraded brakes will heat/cool at differing rates compared to the old ones, that'll upset the balance of...

Must be all the rain in Yorkshire, the county's gently sinking!! Traveling to find a car's not a problem, but I'm just getting a little tired of going to look at an "Immaculate" car, to only find that there's more rust all over and under it than my "working" car "Saab 9.3 -1...

Rust

Hello All. How does every one rate the quality of the rust protection on the Z3? I've been looking for a decent car now for several weeks and they ALL seem to have the dreaded R problem, under bonnet around the boot area underneath etc. If this is a real quality problem from the states? If so I may ...

Looking for a six pot

I've been looking for a six pot Z3 for a few weeks now without much joy. Budgets around 7K and cash is waiting for a straight, clean car. Must have aircon (wet dog!! during the winter) Every one I've seen so far have been ragged half to death, so please only reply if you're selling a GOOD car. Paul@...
