Re: ABS fault unsolvable bricked car

Managed to fix my ABS module last week. Removed the control unit, sealed unit so cut the lid off with a Dremel. 2 broken solder joints inside, resoldered. Fitted the lid and sealed with black silicone sealer. ABS light was still on, drove for 1/4 mile, lights went out and stayed out. Now lights go o...

Re: Sticky Brake Caliper?

You can usually pump the piston out once the pads are removed, just using the break pedal.

A bit messy once the piston pops out, just have a bowl underneath.

Thats how i did mine.

Just done this last week, very easy to do.

A kit to do both rears from Big Red £43 delivered, comes with pistons, all seals, grease.

The other essential piece of kit is a Sealy VS820 pressure bleeder, makes bleeding a doddle.

Re: Nasty noise diagnosis

I had a similar noise on my E36 M3, was coming and going and changed with engine noise.

Finally traced it to the plastic undertray, part of the fixings had broken away causing the undertray to rub against the air con pulley.

You can unplug each sensor without removing it and meausre the resistance.

A good sensor will read about 1000 Ohms.

Our Z3 needs a new battery, have seen on Euro Car Parts site the Bosch ones for reasonable money.

One question though, our Z3 has a vent tube on the battery, never had a car with a vent tube fitted before.

Does it matter if the new battery has one or not?
