Re: Erratic starter???

You are correct - we tried tapping the starter - didn't help. So I was a bit surprised that it started at the garage. I recall he did not do any measurement to check that the voltage reached the starter - so not so clear on how he was so confident on his diagnosis. It probably was the brushes - and ...

Erratic starter???

Last night the car would not start. Again this morning. I feared it was a failed alarm system. The diagnosis of the mobile road recovery chap was that it's the starter. Got towed to my Indy - and low and behold - after removing from the truck....it started. Can a starter be erratic or can it be some...

The the most probable thing is the seal of the roof against the body. Remove the carpets and pour water over the rear window. My bet is that you will see water dripping inside the boot. The fix is to partially open the roof and seal the whole length of the seal with black Super7. (The only other thi...

The two simplest mods that IMO would change the look of your 1.9 Montreal Blue would be:
1. Spacers on rears
2. Paint the expanded metal mesh inside the gills silver.

Head Unit Connections

Is there a simple explanation why the color of the wires reaching my head unit do not match the colors in the Bentley's circuit diagram.
For example, my rear left speaker (behind the LHD driver) has a solid brown wire and a solid yellow wire & in the handbook it shows wires with 2 colors.
Any ideas?

Brian, Not sure what you are referring to - but once the mirror is removed and the plastic clams of the mirror assembly are removed, you have access to the two hex screws. When one then removes the electrical connections to the mirror motor (no cutting involved) - it may be a good idea to tie a knot...
