Re: Blast from the past - help valuing s54
Phil p/x'd his car for an Alpina 3 series from Sytner. A forum member had seen the car and approached Sytner and made an offer 'as is'. If the S54 isn't a keeper then I would pass @ £21k Thanks Gazza, I wish I could commit to it as a long termer but its just completely the wrong time (I now have th...

Re: Blast from the past - help valuing s54
Phil’s S54 was advertised at BMW for £27K but sold for £19K I believe, 85k miles approx. With 61K miles I would expect £22-25K private sale Thanks Gazza, I've been offered the car at 21k but its come at a really bad time for me. How easily do you think I could find a buyer at a similar price (if ci...

Hi All, Its been a long time since I visited the forum. Not sure if any of the old members are still kicking about? Well its been a long while since i've updated this thread, hope all you zedders are doing well!. Various things happened in my personal life which involved a flat sale/temporary relocation leaving me a 3 drive to work each day. Re: S54 Vanos
It does but you try getting any BMW dealer to recognise that..That is why I bought the recall kit and had it fitted. To be honest if you guys are at high mileage now I doubt its anything to worry about. My car hadn't even hit the 45k mark at the time - wasn't worth the risk

Re: S54 Vanos
Without trawling through numerous threads over the years and to keep things simple and as a generalisation the S50 has the vanos issues and the S54 had the bolts issue. The E46 M3s were recalled but the M Roadsters weren't. The faulty bolts were traced to a batch of engines made in a 6 week period ...

I really don't think Z4M prices will control Z3M prices. Rolling back 3+ years ago now when I bought my s54 a Z4MR was only a grand or so more. As tempting as the 'newer' car was it didnt do it for me anywhere near as much, yes it was technically alot more capable but it didnt have the outragious lo...

Thanks Jon, i'm sure they are, if they looked similar to OEM then alot more owners would see them as a suitable substitute. Unfortunately I was never fan (to put it lightly) which is why I would rather put over £500 and blood sweat and tears into converting OEM units to Bi-xenon

Disagree, Chinese tat is not a substitute for OEM it is also in no way related to the price of BMW parts
P.S I have bought and sold 5/6 sets over the past year and in the usual 10+ year condition they usually sell for £200 - if they don't sell this time round they will be relisted
