It is actually sold now - the guy is coming on Friday....have recommended the forum. I have tossed the idea about and mailed so many companies in three months it is just too much of a risk/headache..... price wise it is not a MASSIVE saving RORO boat - £1200 MAF/Customs $35ish excl any steam cleanin...

Oh believe me i have tried, It can get in on an immigrant category and would be GST free. However I would HAVE to be in the country when it lands, I am going to South Africa first for two months and even getting a slow boat would result in bonded storae fees of $100 a day.....I have looked into EVER...

From what I know - it will last forever - you would only need to change it if it had stretched a bit and was a little noisy - but will not snap like a belt. My M44 engined 318iS eventually did 180000miles and never had the chain changed.(and was never noisy)

The Alpines are excellent. I went for Infinity reference 6.5 - a component set up. the basket on these is one of the smallest I could find so they fit into the 5.25" holes in the footwell. you just need to trim the plastic on the footwell panel so the cone does not hit the surround made to isol...

It was going to be the plan to take it with - It would have been about £2000, with similar age zeds being about £8000 it would have been worth while, however their certification of what they will allow in to the counrty is SO strict and such a mission, from what I have found out only the dual airbag...

is the viscous cloupling all ok? ie can you stop the blades when the car is at idle and it doesnt sound like a fan when revving the car (if that makes sence) Maybe it is locked and the fan turning at full speed all the time is killing it??

I paid £12 each from cooper BMW - it is a pre facelift 2.8 but they did require some good whacking with a rubber mallet to get them on, not sure if they were the wrong size but the holding screw is definatly not needed, they are never coming off!

The solution!! An M knob off a 'cup sport' - it is about an inch shorter and looks MUCH better and more modern instread of the long standard one.

From what I know the guage is not linear - it will sit at halfway and only go above this when the temperature really gets hot (this kinda makes it as much use as a temperature warning light like in new cars) I believe the manufacurers do this to not worry people if it goes a little over halfway. You get what you pay for - I had the same one that Althulas sent the link to on mr MR2 .....it just looks cheap, bolts are not stainless so rust and the welding looks very 'child labour' quality......

I know at least on the earlier cars as well as E36 3 series it was just a warning that stayed on a few seconds after starting the car - it was not dependant on the seat belts being done up or not.....

Yes, agreed with AW8 - the Meguires purple tire dressing is excellent compared to others I have used, lasts a good couple of weeks with new tire 'shinyness' plus it had a nice GRAPE smell!!

I think 'dont touch it' is a bit harsh! There is nothing wrong with it - its a badge and the guy probably doesnt know. Its the same as people having a 316 'M' with not one M item on the car but the previous owner had stuck on an ebay badge. They look like the normal sports option seats to me??....ed...

lol, thats nasty! Not sure on the 2.8 but I am thinking it will be pretty bulletproof - the specific output for the capacity is the lowest of the Z3 I think - it is a lazy engine and not stressed so as long as it is well maintained.... My 318iS in South Africa with the M44 1.9 16 valave nearly did 3...

I like the metallic sound - it is much better than the echoey (?) drain pipe sound you get with some stupidly large bore exhausts. I think it is a more authentic 'racy'/'modified' sound.

Manually reset?? Try the search function for 'service indicator reset'....I cant remember off hand but it is just shorting two pins in the service port for about 8 seconds. or there are cheap tools like the Draper that do the shorting and timing for you for about £12.
