Success! I have successfully removed the starter motor from the BMW Z3 1.9L M44 4 cylinder engine without removing the manifold. I will write up in detail about the procedure soon. I have carly pro on my samsung android phone. I have been able to code loads on the E85 Z4, and its very clear and easy to do. £130 is the price of a smart repair which is what you got. Normally £250 ish for a full bumper.
I wouldn't blame the garage unless they specifically told you they would do the whole bumper at that price, or if you had asked for it to be done.

try the steering with the engine on, then with it off, there should be a distinct difference.

I have never needed a power supply when doing diagnostics or coding with INPA and NCSexpert for the ABS module. Current draw is very low, and it usually doesnt take very long. Battery will last hours on diagnostics provided everything else is not being used. turn off heater fans, lights etc etc firs...

my opinion is that after removing the throttle body to fit the cable, the round plug was not fitted correctly resulting in all the codes and problems, A subsequent refit of a new TB saw it connected properly. I know from experience that it is a pig to get at, plug in and rotate fully. I have removed...

unfortunately on my model the 1.8, the engine management light comes on as amber and says in the manual that it is the lambda sensor. I have had this verified by having the code read at the garage and it does back up the manuals statement that the fault is with the lambda sensor Check all the vacuu...

pump fault 71 is usually the ECU on the pump itself, 4little torx bolts and the unit comes off without any fluid escaping or the need to bleed it,

yes mine does that on occasion... works fine for 99% then an odd occasion it wont activate. I have to switch off and back on again...
