I posted this last week but had no response. Just in case anyone else has the same problem I have the answer! After a BMW diagnostic check, the forward cam shaft sensor was showing as a fault. This in turn was causing the oxygen sensor on the othrside of the cat to fail. I had the cam sensor replac...

If the car stalls from warm then it could be the cam inlet sensor. That was what the problem was when mine stalled when warm. I changed it & the problem was solved. Pretty easy fix as well, just check the knowledge base. Mine would stall from warm only, not cold or hot, anyway a new inlet sensor...

Had the same problem with mine, turned out to be the inlet cam sensor.It started when cold & when hot but if it was luke warm it would start but when i touched the throttle it died. I changed the inlet sensor & all is cured :D

Dont you just hate those "too cool to let on" drivers. I was out on the wirral last sunday, roof down, blue skies. I passed a few Z drivers who were too cool to wave,so i didnt bother posting in the spotted section. :D

I bought the bosch s6 battery a couple of months ago. It seems to be a really good battery & even has post holes for the terminal covers from your old BMW battery. It also has vent holes for the vent pipe. :D

thanks for that. Got the seriel number from the unit and phoned up my local BMW garage who give it to me within a couple of minutes. However i thouht the purpose of the code was so if it got stolen then no one would be able to use it without the code. I could of stolen this unit from any of you guy...

I did this only last week. I slipped out the radio to reveal a label with numbers on it, jotted down the numbers & got intouch with my local BMW dealer. I gave him these numbers & a little while later he got back intouch with my code ALL FREE :D :D Result.

Tori, they are probably stuck, a very common problem. sometimes they can be tapped back into operation. Also check that there isnt a foriegn body preventing them from operating, i know its a tight space so a vacuum might help. These things usually stick because of lack of use so once freed should be...

Simon check the tyre pressures. Mine can be sensitive to the wrong pressures. Tweak the pressures untill you find a happy balance. Hope this helps :)

We can get some really nice days in the winter, blue skies but very cold. I put the heating on full for a few miles & let the cabin warm up before i put the roof down, just gives the window a chance to warm up :|

Could also be the handbrake cable is a little slack, when you hear it again just pull the handbrake slightly & listen if it stops. If it dosnt then it isnt :?

With the recent extreme weather I may hazard a guess that the coolent wasn't upto scratch and it may have frozen cracking the block or head. :cry: Dont modern cars have "bursting dishes" installed into the engine casing to prevent this. Might just be that one of these has popped out. Just...
