There is a market for fast Escorts and people will pay daft money for good ones. As they will for top end BMWs including the Z3M

Thanks for the reply. I had a 1993 RS2000, bought in 94 for just under £10k, sold in 97 for £5.5k wish I'd kept it as they are also now quite a sort after car.

Yes, my traction light was coming on with the mixed tyres when taking bends at even quite modest speeds. Does not come on now unless I really boot it.

Re: Undervalued?
I've been told that some z3s are starting to gain in value, but not others. The more powerful the car the more sort after it is and the more likely that its value will rise. The z3m is well sort after and anyone who wants one will have to pay a fair amount of cash for a car the could be over 15 year...

Re: Steering and Suspension Wear.
Hi for those interested in tyre choice and handling I thought I'd give an update on my tyre change issue. Problemz started when I changed my worn rear continental tyres for new tyres by hankook. Handling although not dreadful was just not as good. Well before my mot is due at the end of this month I...

No the fronts and rears are different size wheels and hence have different size tyres.

I might also get the suspension and steering checked too just to be on the safe side

No. Just changed the rears as the fronts have loads of tread left.
Continentals on the front, hancocks on the rear. Could that be a bad mix?

Hi Guys With the nice warm summer we have been having I've been using my Z3 more than ever. But over the last month or so I've noticed that the handling is not all it once was. What method did you use to access the Front speakers? Which pieces of the interior have to be removed to gain access to the speakers in the foot wells?

Well I cut the blue lead on the Sony to ISO connecter. This is the one that I believed was the antenna connection from the HU. I replaced this by connecting the spare “AMP REM” wire from the HU to the loom. Reconnected everything and tried out the Radio. No difference. The front speakers still did n...

I was not keen on cutting any wire on the BMW loom for obvious reasons so I’ve taken your advice and traced the white wire on the loom back to the head unit and there is a connection. The white wire on the loom connects to the blue wire on the BMW to ISO connector which is marked as “Antenna remote”...

Thanks for the response Rob. I have the Sony to ISO connector in front of me now. Z3 front speakers not working. Just got the Z3 back on the road for summer and I’ve noticed that the front speakers (woofers) are not working. I have no problems removing the battery when the car is off road during the winter period. The first problem I have had for three years with my Z3. This has happened twice now over the last couple of week and both scenarios have been similar. I’ve never driven a Z3M, but I have a relative who owns a Z4M and I’ve driven that, and although its an unquestionably fast car, for the money he paid for it (over £25K), its not that much quicker than my £7k 3.0 Z3. its prob half a second quicker to 60. Mark The 3.0 was a straight replacement the 2.8 around the year 2000, so all things being equal you are going to be paying more for a 3.0 than you will a 2.8 simply because it will be newer. So its all to do with the size of your budget and how much you are looking to spend. From a performance point...
