Good luck with the sale ;-)

ps the inner fabric roof liner was a facelift 04/99 change ie not exclusive to S54 models, late S50 models also have it and it can be retro fitted so some older cars have it.

You do not say what engone you have but in general you are better off sorting handling / feel than power unless you just want to get away from traffic lights quicker. The problem is most current cars would still beat you ;-) If I could have only done one mod to my Z3's it would have been fit a small...

Nope, it had a major service prior to being put in storage and the race bike battery is disconnected. I have two in place so if one fails to crank the other can be connected but the cranking power has never been an issue, always turns over like it was a daily driver :wink: It will get a service for ...

To show another side of the equation I'm pretty confident I'm on the plus side of owning a WB 993 and S54 Z3m and that gap will only widen on the +v side over time.

Ah but the backers retain / increase in value so are better value all be it at a higher entry price ;-)

Look for VDO units, retro styling at reasonable prices, just make sure you get the correct color display.

Depends on your budget........ becker are the best value but also one of the more expensive. The reason, the porsche and ferrari guys love them for their classics, so expensive to get hold of but retain / go up in value. So you can spend c£100 on a radio which will be worth £0 in 3 years or £400-£50...

Ac Schnitzer hoops are TUV approved and where officially a dealer option.

No other are approved BUT you don't need hoops, the seat rest and windscreen frame are the rollover protection or BMW could not have sold the cars without roll hoops as they did

You have to be careful with how many left as there are subtle differences in V5 descriptions which where not consistent through a production run, often in some random way, When we looked at this some years ago it was obvious that some Z3m's where classed as none ///M's on the database ;-)

If you want more than just a cosmetic change fit a 340mm raid wheel, retains airbag (although only single stage if you have a 2 stage system) and transforms the driving experience on the Z3's. One of the best mods I did to my car, the stock wheel whether recovered or not is just too big IMHO

Hi, it's probably a "facelift" 2000 model year ? It's not easy to tell unless you know what to look for as most changes are under the skin eg upgraded airbag system, roof interior lining is the easiest to spot difference

To clarify I was not referring to automatic lights on the Range Rover which I think most cars have now, I agree that is proven technology. I have a brand new boxed set somewhere but not sure where they are following a house move a couple of years ago. Not much used to you but I'm sure they must be in the garage attic with other rare parts I have. I'll have to dig them out one day

Schnitzer did not make the roll bars, they are made by another company I forget the name of now, something like alumex in Germany. They are tuv approved as are the OEM hoops. It worth noting the windscreen and seat backs are the main rollover protection.
