I went back with same insurer after trying several others and settled on £550 for 3 cars, the S-type 3.0, Z3 3.0, and Z4 3.0 comprehensive and 4000mls year. I think that is OK. :D JBD

Thanks for that, So maybe better to get individual policies for the 3 cars or keep multi car on Jag and Z3 and look else where for Z4, I have been driving since 1967 and never claimed crashed or had offence etc, now retired, The company I insured the Jag and Z3 were very good, I do less that 3K a ye...

boot not opening from remote

Have noticed boot does not open using remote, it does open with key in lock, ther is no clicking sound from lock, is this solenoid? any ideas? I have read in manual that some memory functions can be lost after changing battery, Thanks JBD :D

After much searching etc I have located Z4 3.0 2006 with 60K miles in exceptional condition, so now have a Z3 and Z4. nice to compare the 2 cars. I bought it as present to myself! I will post pictures once I find how to. JBD :D

Spotted small amount of pink coolant on garage floor last time out, had a look all appeared ok, then in dark with torch thought it was coming from cap, ordered new cap from main dealer £16, fitted it and in daylight can see coolant coming out of split beside top hose near bleed screw. Again many thanks for all help. Had better look today and found small plastic horse shoe shaped clip thingy in there, discovered that when pipe is pushed in connector this clip locks it in place, now headlamp washers working again, plenty of force. Just wonder if pipe needed to be taken out when car...

Many thanks everyone for replies, put pipe back in, switched lights on and after couple or so windscreen washes the pipe blew off with fair bit of force sending water from pipe a good distance, I would imagine this proves the motor is working? I tried blowing down the hose towards the jets on bumper...

Just noticed my headlight washers not working.( 2001 Z3 3.0ltr) The rubber feed pipe that is clipped on inner wing behind passenger headlamp was out, (maybe due to blockage) Where should I look, any help please. Many thanks JBD

I put my 3ltr Z3 in to main dealer to go through entire car and rectify anything they found, I took their advice and they fitted Bridgestone Potenza tyres. (back and front) they were about £135 each. Car handles like it should now. :lol: But still recovering after the bill!

I have just had the 2 rear springs replaced on my Z3 3.0ltr. This was done by main dealer. They show on invioce, B33.53.0.015.960, 055541/coil spring, 1@ £169.17 IE pair = £235.17. Hope this helps. :head:

lost intrument cluster..

I have now lost the instrument cluster lights along with the speedo and rev meter, most of warning lights gone as well, checked with code reader and getting codes 130 and 131 saying instrument cluster (CAN) where would I find this connection? Thank you Gazza for information. I read the code this time from inside the car and got code P00B4 whic is supposed to be ABS VALVE FAULT. STEERING ANGLE SENSOR FAULT (SIGNAL 1) and LEFT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR (long term control) These were verified by the company where I purchased the reader namely...

OK many thanks for help, I was looking at Gendan products for reader which would point me in right direction but will take them all out clean/replace as required. Will post my progress which will be snails pace, was thinking of good independent or as last resort main BMW dealer. :rtm:
