Going to be selling my Z3M soon. I’ve had it for about 12 years but not used in about 10 though regularly moved about and warmed through and even oil changes etc… About 85k on the clock with hard top. It has had rear boot strengthened in its past but not a great job so needs re-doing. So selling as ...

Any recommendations for a place that will strip, coat and paint calipers and replace pistons and seals?
All 4 on a M.

Drivers side bolster is good just could benefit from a good feed and maybe a little bit of dye.
Wheels need a good wash. Rear tyres need gunk washing off as they are new.

Oh I do still enjoy it. But if I drive it tends to be work related between London and Manchester usually 3 to 4 times a week. My daily takes the brunt of this rather than the zed. It would be a shame to see it go but maybe time to use the funds for the family. So with that in mind I'm likely to star...

It is a toughie and I agree it is a shame not to use the car more often though I am careful to ensure it is periodically warmed up and moved to ensure everything should be as it should. Cheers buddy. The car isn't a perfect concourse but still pretty clean. My son is on 2 1/2 at the moment! Wish I had more time for it to be honest. Though having it garaged I can just let it grow in value. Think I've done less than 1,000 miles in 5 yrs! I've always wanted a coupe but just out of budget now. Think I've missed the boat. Z3s are good value. Loads of fun, easy to fix and parts aren't too di...

The chrome isn't added, it was factory. Though I agree it somehow doesn't work with the hardtop. Looks good with the black hood.

I went. There were 2 Z3Ms in the Silverstone auction. A S54 with hardtop which sold for £21,600 and a S50 which didn't sell. Estimated price was between £20-£25k on both. The S50 was low mileage. Both estoril blue. Spent a good four hours there and hardly saw any of it. You'd need a good couple of d...

Anyone else notice that all interior pics of the blue one conveniently obscure the drivers side bolster. May not be intentional but it's always one of items top of the list to check when viewing a BMW....... £40k is far too steep. Maybe in another 10-15 years.....

Let's face it, with the age of them now and the fact they do change hands more often these days, an M is always going to be a project. Some may need less work than others but all will need work. There is someone selling a white z3m on Facebook with about 95k on the clock. Comes with matching hardtop and looks very clean in and out. White is quite a rarity and they are only asking £6.5k which is mega cheap in anyone's books.

There was someone on here selling a M for £5k not long ago. High mileage but seemed a nice example.
But understand your point.
Wish I used my M more but not had a chance since the little one arrived a year ago. That's the biggest downside by far!

I may get shot for this, but........ why a 2.8 or 3.0? Why not a M. Given the figures you are talking you may be able to get a M perhaps with higher mileage but still a good base to work from (if spending time doing a bit of minor restoration work is your thing). And in all probability, a M would ap...

Just curious if anyone has had complete engine failure on a S50. And if so did they repair and what was the cost.
Just curious as it is always back of mind as I've heard horror stories and with an ageing car it is a worry.
