It feels so much like a mapping problem but it can't be.... Fuel pump issue is worrying me. Its always made that noise but it is getting worse. Repalcement pump from BMW is circa £400. I feel i could adapt the high pressure walbro. I know my valve clearences are a little out but they shouldn't be ca...

Misfire woes
My S50 has developed a misfire at low revs. Only on part throttle openings though. Also if in the low rev range and WOT is applied i get a huge lag before the car decides it wants to go forward.
Also for the first 10 miles of a jurney my fuel pump whines like the girlfriend non stop.

The filter is huge. It has to be though since only big filters have 90mm inlets. It doesn't have any brackets to hold it in as it fits exactly between the headlight and the MAF. At the moment this filter kit is around £100 cheaper than any other so it gives you plents of money left over to construct...

Anyone want to be a test person for an induction kit?
If you have a 2.0/2.2/2.8 and are near me (Nafferton, East Yorkshire) and would like to be a tester for an induction kit send me a PM with a photo of your engine bay.

Z3M induction kits
I've finished my filter set up. It utilises the OEM heat shield as it proved once rolling to be only 4 degrees above ambiant. The kit includes a large ITG filter, Silcone joiner and two jubilee clips. It is up to you what you do with the breather filter. Since i can't find a reasonably priced small ...

The OEM airfeeds will remain as they can easily flow enough air. The part i'm most intestested in is if a heat shield makes that much of a difference. Since once a car is rolling, temps at the inlet side of the bay are rarely much higher than the out side temp. All the parts i need have been ordered...

John the original paint is more than thick enough to have a few goes with intensive polish. Plus its so hard your so unlikely to go too far. AW8 - Polishes are designed to cater for softer paints hence why they make like impact on hard clearcoats such as BMW/Porsche paints. Some paints i've correcte...

I'm currently in the middle on designing my own to use on my Z3M. I'll use this tread to update my progress. I'll be very DaveF esque but using a different filter. I'm think i'll be able to offer it with or with out an heatshield. Plus it should be a fair bit cheaper than the Simota kit. I'll be doi...

After all the detailing treads i thought i'd crack my PC out and have a go on the Z3M. What the do they do to this stuff in the factory? Its possibly the hardest substance known to man. Try to avoid using WD40 in the engine bay. The high sylicone/oily content acts to suck the life out of vinyls ultimately leaving them dry and faded. Aswell as attracting dust. Also it'd take a lot of effort to kill the clearcoat with hand applied SRP and i mean a lot  . It took long enough with...

Several members over at zed-cars use T1-R's on and off the track, notably on Z4M's. I've never heard anything negative from them about their performance. Also, I believe Spokey is a fan of the grip capabilities of the T1-R's. I had T1-R on my Westfield and i didn't like how soft the side walls were...

John i'd agree with the fact they are hard to live map. BMW ECU's like to self adjust to find an afr of 13 at WOT. In some cases this has caused cors to revert back to the old map almost. The same happens on Pug ecu's too. I think i live map would be do able its just be time consuming like you said....
