Seem to remember a thread suggesting using a credit card or knife to slide under CD cartridge which releases it if stuck. As you say though easy to remove

Re: UK Road Challenge (2015)

That must have been amazing. I just completed a lap of the cairngorms on Saturday / Sunday from Cults ( Aberdeen ) up through Tomintoul and down through Pitlochry before coming back up through Glenshee. Great drive , roof down in Scotland for 300 miles and two days straight 8-). Not quite the mad da...

Re: UK Road Challenge (2015)

I'll be taking in some of those views at the weekend. Travelling from Cults (Aberdeen) to Kingussie in the Cairngorms. Recently put the Zed back on the road after almost 3 years. Drove up to Abz from Middlesbrough about 4 weeks ago and didn't miss a beat, had forgotten what a pleasure to drive. :)

Looking at what is available it does seem cheap, there is a car the same year that has 85k on the clock and already made over 6k on auction with 4 days left

Re: Instrument Cluster repair ?

Thanks for the reply Robert, no error codes but the fault was happening fairly regular and I managed to borrow a unit and ran it for a couple of days with no sign of a problem. BBA reman state a 35 pound diagonstic charge if nothing wrong or unable to repair, depends how confident you are that they ...

Instrument Cluster repair ?

My instrument cluster has an intermittent fault where the rev's / temp gauge and sometimes all indication drops out and the unit goes blank. I have seen two companies advertising repairs, Cluster Repairs UK and BBA Reman. Both seem to offer a similar service which looks like being around two hundred...

Re: Speedo ,rev, temp Fuel Gauges Stopped Working

Thanks for the response, I had a look at some of the previous threads and I am a little confused. My current milage is 58k, the new cluster has 78k on it when I read through the instructions it seems that the ECU on my car would be overwritten with the higher mileage ? :dunce: Maybe I'm not understa...

Speedo / rev counter etc.,

I had a similar problem which started about a year ago. I had left the car for a few weeks when the weather was freezing and the battery failed. When I got the car re-started the problem you described happened intermittently. Over time it happened more often and eventually failed completely. New clu...

Rev Counter / Temp Gauge

I have a problem with the instrument cluster that I fitted as a replacement. My old one had an intermittent fault so rather than pay 600 quid I bought one off ebay. The new unit lit up fine apart from the Rev counter / Temp gauge, thought I had seen a thread on here regarding a fuse that supplies th...

Do you really think that having clean mirror bases would be a deel breaker on buying a Zed ?

They are pretty good actually, one has a few bubbles in the paint but repair is very easy.

Their was a thread a couple of weeks ago regarding the hose to the air intake valve. It cracks over time which can result in an intermittent increase in air flow giving the symptoms described. Worth getting someone to rev the car while you check around.
