I had just that job done on my 2.8 a few months ago.

A very, very noisy rear diff was replaced by a second hand one by my local garage.

It cost me a lot of money but a lot less than my local BMW dealer would have charged.

Hi guys, Whilst driving home through the Essex lanes a few evenings ago I saw something shoot out of the hedge and immediately felt a thump on the car. The thump has to be described as the noise made by a 30 mph Z3 hitting a Pheasant. Poor bird. It must have had one hell of a headache in the morning...

Hi there,

I drive a Z3 and an A3 and there is no doubt the Z's steering is so heavy when compared to the Audi.

I much prefer the feel of the BM over the Audi though. I think heavy steering is just one part of the package.

Yep, I bought the bits for my 2.8 off ebay as ACEMAN suggests.

Buying them was easy. Fitting them was another issue altogether.

I've had plenty of practice in working on cars and bikes but I failed totally.

My local Indie was only too eager to step in and assist.

Bad luck with your Z.

I have the same experience as PhilMCaz. A colleague of mine deliberately drive his Vauxhall through deep water and flooded and ruined the engine.

His insurance company covered the cost of the repairs.

Have a very close look at your policy wording.

Like you, I came to Zs via kit cars. In my case a Xflow engined Robin Hood. IMHO the Z3 and the Hood both have 4 wheels. That's where the similarity ends.

An old trick on stick on motorcycle tank badges was to spray them liberally with WD40 and then use a length of dental floss to "grind" away the adhesive.

Worked well for me without damaging the paint on the tank underneath the badge.

I've used Boyz Toyz in Rayleigh for motorcyle related repainting, excellent work from an unassuming lock up.

I'm not sure they do whole cars though.

I agree with the previous poster. My aerial had a normal co-axial wire connection as well as the white wire. I guess it is an amplified system as standard on Z3.

If your aerial is an aftermarket job then I guess the white wire is redundant.
