Re: Repair advice
I have had no problem getting new suspension components for my M Roadster through Euro Car Parts. Most parts are the same (or better) as OEM. I think that for car specific stuff (headlight lenses, trim bits etc.) the eBay or a dismantler are probably your best source but sometimes the BMW dealer net...

True but I have seen the one with the red display being listed as a 7950 on eBay a couple of times hence the question. Also seemed odd putting a yellow display in a car with orange/red OEM displays.Rafolian wrote:It says 7950 in the ad!

A couple of years back I bought a set of MPower number plate surrounds from M-Style for my M Roadster. They screw to the car and then the number plate is held in with clips.
Pretty sure they do them without the BMW MPower logo for non BMW Motorsport Cars

Actually it does affect them.
Mine has the integrated remote with the key and the battery failed in the alarm siren. Result... no alarm. And the immobiliser doesn't stop them if they know what they're doing with key coding... mine has suffered that fate in its past!

Re: Z3 Roadster m sport - what to look for
Another common issue is that the alarm siren battery dies with the result that it often doesn't work. Quick check is to lock the car, wait a couple of minutes and then reach inside which should set off the alarm from the interior sensor. Problem with a broken alarm on the M version is that insurance...

Re: Selling my CatD M Roadster
As mentioned by others, finding out the exact nature of the Cat D classification can help a lot with the sale. For example, suppose the car is Cat D due to being stolen recovered. No damage (perhaps) to the vehicle but it took a long time to recover so was 'written off' by the insurers. Makes it mor...

Do have the separate alarm key fob or is it all done from one key?
If its one key and the remote buttons on the fob don't unlock the car then it needs recoding back to the car. This can be done, I believe, without a trip to the dealer.

If pin 15 on your 20 pin round socket under the bonnet is populated then you cannot access all modules in your car using an OBDII interface but you need to use a ADS interface which also needs a true serial port on the computer. This is due to the fact that the communication from the car does not co...
