Re: June 14 - Dorset Sea Run
Where has this year gone? Glad the trip went ok CI, wasn't able to join unfortunately. Glad the weather held out. We had just returned from St Lucia (Even saw a Z3 parked up on the island. Looking a bit sorry for itself.) and it was just about the time our Summer started. Didn't go to Germany this y...

Re: June 14 - Dorset Sea Run
Hi Bazza, it's a silver 2.8 automatic. The reg looks like BONGO hence it's name. I usually wave when approaching ZZZs but not all respond. I'll look out for you. My step daughter damaged a wheel in a pothole on ZZ hill recently although my wife confirms they have now repaired a lot of the holes. CI,...

Re: June 14 - Dorset Sea Run
ZigZag Hill road is very pot holed CI, Might not want to do any spirited driving along there.
Sorry I've not replied to your emails, very busy with Golf & work at present to commit. Keep in touch.
Not many drivers waving in and around Verwood.

Thanks for the decent reply Robert. I would think most people, like me, bought the Z3 for the long term and if the car does only sell for around the £3-3,500 mark then I would consider it good value for an eight year old ZZZ. So, even if the car has a poor history, I wouldn't have thought it would b...

Good Grief Luke, sell it as it is and you'll loose a hell of a lot more than the cost of a cam sensor and it's fitting. My car, that exibited the same symptoms as yours, did not show any codes on a scanner at a normal garage. I took it to an independent BMW specialist who solved the problem and his ...

Don't be too hard on the mechanics. The cam sensors don't trigger fault codes for some reason so unless the mechanic is really familiar with these type of failures then you get led down the garden path of having all the usual bits changed and throttle valve cleaned. Go to a good independent as I did...

Wessex Wayfarer Wanderers Weekend
A few of us were discussing the idea of a weekend away, probably across to Devon and Cornwall, yesterday.
Can interested parties add to the thread with availability, dates etc and possible destinations.

Alfie, it was very cold nonetheless and some probably didn't feel like risking cracking their rear screen if it got too cold before putting it up. Anyway, thank you Carole and Nick for organising the day. Fabulous decision to put the date back Carole. There has been a suggestion that we have a weeke...

Ok I've uploaded the rest of the pictures. There was nothing special about the cars at all. All bog standard, standard wheels, one had cream leather interior and the others looked liked they needed a good clean inside. The exterior had been polished but again, no better than what the owners on this ...

PPL? I envy you. My brother is ex-tornado now flying FlyBe prop jobs. I envy him as well. However, my Z3 knocks spots off his series one oil burner. :roflmao: Hope you didn't mind my humour. It's just that the thought of seeing a Z3 tearing down the strip might be a bit too much for some visitors to...

Hi Michael, it's a grass strip and you'd be shot if you tried to out pace a Tiger Moth or Cessna. Ha!  At the end of the strip planes rise into the air, Z3s plumet over the edge. Compton Abbas airfield has a lovely cafe and wonderful views from it's hill top position. Come along and enjoy...

Problem with the salted grit is just that salt absorbs water. A pile of salted grit lies dormant all year from the previous winter and during the year the salt leaches out. When the first frost arrives and the need to grit the road arises then the grit put down has very little or no salt worth talki...

This has happened to me tonight. Turned off the car to deliver a letter and then turned on engine and no instruments. Had to drive 15 miles by guess work. Welcome Dennis, I have a 2.8 auto also with boot rack. Absolutely essential if touring. My rack is on the other way round. Makes it easier when strapping the bag to the rack. It doesn't slide off before they are fixed. Can't see why some complain about a right and wrong way. Anyway, the 2.8 is a joy...
