Interesting as when I had a Vauxhall Corsa VXR, that had 18s with low profile tyres and in the boot was a built in compressor with a tyre foam cartridge. Tim. As did my 07plate Zafira, and my 57plate Cooper. Getting alarmingly common these days unfortunately. Have you got a spare in your 1 s...

It's beginning to look like a recovery service - which I can see being a HUGE hassle if we end up with a puncture in the middle of nowhere late at night. I'm going to call Puncture-Safe in the morning and have a chat, but I think my low profile tyres will rule them out. I'm posting this reply from ...

At well past the boy racer age, the only choice for me was an auto, they are much better than of old, especially the Steptronic. Mine is the 5 speed Steptronic, older models have the 4 speed non-steptronic, but I guess both do about the same mpg. I have had 31mpg from mine but that was driving smoot...

Thanks Mike, it all makes sense knowing the logic of it all. I looked back through the receipts and the last service that would have had the SI reset was just over 2 years ago. When I bought the car from Texasjohn ( a member of the forum) just over a year ago, he had the car serviced but didn't get ...

Hi Batterzee, mine used to be awful for brake dust, but i found out there was an underlying problem with the brake calipers sticking, so i would be tempted to get them checked out as now i can do about 200 miles before the wheels start to look quite mucky. Just a thought. bill That is a point worth...

Would it not just be a case of taking it in for service when you are down to one green bar instead ? Sounds about right, womans logic :) How much was the BF change anyhow? £55 + vat. My nearest indie would have been cheaper but they are a 100 mile round trip, not worth it for a small bill. Sounds l...

Brake Fluid change and Service Lights
After noticing the little clock symbol on the dash I had the brake fluid changed today at my local main dealer. Wouldn't normally use a dealer for this but he gave me a good deal. Anyway on collection I noticed that all five green service lights were lit, when I took it in only four were lit. To my ...

Re: Space Saver Wheels
Never having had one, what do you do with the original wheel until it is repaired? It wouldn't fit in the boot, I can't quite picture it sitting on the missus' lap, and she probably would moan a bit if I decided to leave her behind! Mine has got a nice white plastic bag in the boot to put the wheel...

You certainly wont be dissapointed with the 3.0 but make sure you go for the sport, apart from the extras you get a lot better suspension set up. Although this may not be relevant to 'Z's, petrol with added ethanol is a killer for fibreglass tanks. This was reported in classic motorcycle mags recently when bike builders using replica fb tanks had huge problems with leaks springing up after a few weeks of being used for the first time. It wasn...

Quite frankly I couldn't live with that and would have to sort it out before 'the big bang' occurred. I had a very similar problem with the Harley. The TC88 engine (new on 1999 models) had two cams driven by HyVo multi link chains tensioned with a spring loaded polymer pad on each chain. Rumour soon...

it was boring , tack over all the wing and down force bits and let them follow close to other cars and you might just get the odd over take They should ban aerodynamics that are not part of the monocoque and reintroduce ground effect cars. This being one of the 'bad' circuits didn't help, but basically when the cars are allowed to be designed with aero packages that disturb the air so much that a following car looses most of its down force once within a few metres, not being able to overtake is to be expected. IMO there is too much em...
