Re: BMW Electrical trouble shooting guide on line
Just FYI there are different versions of the electrical diagrams out there. I could only find North American spec ones, but needed a UK/EU version because I was retrofitting rear fog lamps into my NA spec Z3. Once I was able to located them, I wired them up as per factory.

Re: Original Build Data
The VIN decoder is wrong on mine. It says automatic, but it's actually a manual.
That's probably because I swapped it myself.
It's also wrong on the interior color code, but that's again because I swapped it myself.

Re: 2001 Z3 2.2 Sport Roadster for sale
It really all depends on how those scant miles were accumulated. In June of 2013 I bought a 2000 Z3 2.3 with just a tad over 20K miles. At that point the car was 13 years old. I've not had any problems with gaskets or seals, though I did change some hoses and belts for peace of mind. It's been a gre...

Is this attached to the roof or to the headlining? I don't have a lined roof in mine and can't see anything like that on the inside of the rood. I wonder if it might be something on the back of the headlining to keep it from getting damp? Cheers R. It's on the backside of the headliner. Mine is gon...

Do you have a picture from inside? http://imageshack.com/a/img661/4269/79cFeH.jpg I think it is a plastic layer that covers all the roof between the canvas and the interior trim. That's exactly what it is. Mine started shredding itself, so I just peeled it all off/out. I have no idea why it's there...

Re: Cruise control retrofit on a Z3 with M54
If it is an M54 engine as mine is (Very late 2002 2.2 Sport) then it is a fully 'fly-by-wire' throttle. This needs only a steering column switch assembly and an interface module. The switch assembly connects to one side of the interface module, and the other side of the module connects with the, fr...

Ok, good luck! After a bit of dismantling - removing the EWS module and untying some sticky fabric tape and a cable tie from the loom, the plug was revealed on top of the loom. All fitted and working perfectly now, I'm pleased to say. Thanks to all who helped. :cheers I had previously decided again...

Z3s seem to sell for a lot more here in the US. '96 1.9s with 120-140k miles are still selling for $5000-$6000 regularly here. My Dakar Z with 63,000 miles was purchased in Sept '08 for $12,500. My Topaz Z with 19.950 miles was purchased in June 2013 for $10,500.

While the 17" wheels 'only' have an offset of 41 mm, remember that when compared to the standard 16" wheels, the front wheels are an inch wider, and the rears an additional inch and a half on their rim width, which makes all the difference when fitted inside the wider rear wings. Mike, ye...

The offset of the 16" wheels are ridiculous at ET46. The 17" wheels aren't any better at ET41. On mine, I have installed 15mm spacers to fill the negative space. It really makes quite a difference. The spacers are hub centric and require longer bolts, which the spacers came with. There are...

Hi Mark,
The lower grill is painted body color on the 3.0i cars, on the others it should be black. Rear quarter panels or "arches" are bolt on-off affairs. Best of luck!

Today's forecasted high is 36ºC same as yesterday. Too hot really to do anything outside, especially with all the humidity.
