Looks great, I'm thinking more and more about getting one.

Yes that will be the power steering fluid reservoir. Probably worth changing the fluid too if it needs a top-up. It will help keep the rack and PS system in good nick - fluids other than oil and water are too often overlooked.

You got it! For some reason I missed this exact solution when working on a friends car the other week... it wasn't until we got to the other side that we realised squeezing pipe grips onto the piston was unnecessary as we could fit a spanner onto the nut whilst gripping the piston with an allen key...
