Simota or BMC induction kit?
I have a Z3 2.8 and have for some time been considering changing the standard air filter for an induction kit. I have discounted a K and N as I've heard they are not a great match for the Z3. The ones I am considering are the Simota and the BMC, the latter is out 70 quid cheaper. Advice/thoughts app...

I posted this last week but had no response. Just in case anyone else has the same problem I have the answer! After a BMW diagnostic check, the forward cam shaft sensor was showing as a fault. This in turn was causing the oxygen sensor on the othrside of the cat to fail. I had the cam sensor replace...

Poor acceleration...intermittent
I have just returned from a 4 day trip to Cornwall. The second evening I stopped the car to pay for parking, then went to start it a few minutes later. It took much longer than normal for the engine to catch so I stopped turning the key and tried again. It started this time ok, but the airbag light ...

I had a similar problem with my car. I replaced the tyres with Falkens and hoped the problem would go away, but it remained the same. I took some advice from a mechanic friend who advised me to have the tracking checked by a specialist machine at a garage in Worthing. I took it down there and they s...

Z3 car cover
Hi, I've had my z3 for 18 months now and am enjoying every drive. I live by the coast and garage the car, but the wind still blows through every nook and cranny, leaving dust etc on the paintwork. I decided to buy a cover for it and after looking at quite a few decided on the Z Roadster summer cover...

phil, i have driven all manner of fast road cars from ford cosworths to subaru imprezas, and until now had always prefered a manual gear box. i now have a Z3 2.8 auto (2000) and can honestly say that in sports mode its is fantastic. if you drive progressively in normal mode(economy), i find that the...

my tyres are all the same michelin pilots, i dont know their age but they all have about 6mm of tread. the car has only done 20000 miles from new, im pretty confident that the tyres are not the originals. i come from a motorcycling background so appreciate condition of tyres, pressures and set up. i...
