Clayton cars, Bristol

could I just take the opportunity to big these guys up again, I know they have already been mentioned twice. Very straight, know what they are talking about and good value. I will certainly be going back.

I think you should consider reporting it to the police. It is entirely clear what the intention is, I suspect that the blank logbooks were not obtained by legal means either, unless they are forgeries, which is itself a criminal act.

fantastic

very entertaining reading about it all. Great that you have the time, enthusiasm and skills to do it. It is great reading for the rest of us who might have the enthusiasm but not the other two....

Thanks

I know it's a lovely colour but nearly 5K for a 150 000 mile LHD 1.8? Is this not a tiny bit unrealistic?

tesco insurance

I have heard a few stories about Tesco finding any excuse under the sun not to pay out.

I would avoid them and go with a company who are used to dealing with this sort of area

scruffy car

dont get me wrong, I love it to bits. I was going to spend 1-2K on a scruffy hatchback to run around town in but the Z3 became available becasue someone at work was emigrating. For my 2K I think that I have got a bit of a result, the term 'scruffy' was supposed to be ironic. Very good to hear that t...

Ice

and on a second note, what was the original stereo fitted to the 2.8? Mine has a very plasticky Sony face off affair that I imagine must be a replacement. Very un-BMW looking.

Was it a blaupunkt unit and are they easy to get hold of?

z3 longevity

6 months ago I bought a 2.8 roadster (post facelift, 2000 V reg) for 2K. It had done 120 000 miles but I am only using it as a run (tear) around town car and I am enjoying it enormously. It has so far had a new rear screen and some bumper and paintwork, a second hand set of alloys from e-bay and in ...

I think the problem is that we are just not very good. The premiership is high quality because of all of the money spent on teams and foreign players, sometimes the glory rubs off on our own players a bit. Deep down in the cold light of day they all looked very ordinary, spirit, ball skills, passing...

i have changed the wheels but it only started to work after the change. Both sets are official BMW Z3 patterns with the same effective outer diameter. It sounds to me as if it is the ABS sensor. How easy are these to clean? do you need to take the ABS sensor off the car or can you just clean them in...

asc warning light

have had a high mileage 2.8 roadster for 6 moths or so. The asc light was on all the time and I presumed that the system didn't work. It has now gone of and can be switched on and off by pressing the ASC button so I assume that it works. I'm not really bothered as i am unlikely to use it in round to...

I bought a set like that from e bay fro my 2.8 and they are still in the cellar. Think I will go and put them on looking at your pictures.

Nice pics too, are you into photography?

additional side light for v reg 2.8

the additional side light that sits in the end of the front bumper is utterly Friar Tucked on my Z3. I need a new perspex bit bulb housing and all.
Can anyone recoomend a good parts supplier? I thin that the part number may be 63148389695

good advice, thank you. Google Earth raises significant security questions not just for homeowners and businesses but also for national security and the ubiquitous terror threat.

80 quid just to put some bigger wheels on? They don't actually make the car faster or more dangerous do they?

the authorised wheels in the handbook are either 16 or 17" for the 2.8

have you told the insurance company? I suspect that they will not cover you if you have a ding with the 18" rims on. If you have told them I would be interested to know if they wanted more money to insure the car?

my old rear screen split into a milion fragments a week or two back and I had a new zip in BMW one installed last week. winter tyres on 7J rim

After the winter we have had I have got a second hand set of wheels and am planning to get winter tyres to use from Dec-Feb next year. The handbook says that for the 2.8 roadster and the 16 inch 7J rims you may fit either 205/55 or 225/50 tyres (at a Q,T or H rating) I assume that they have the same...

get nicked for speeding and go to a speed awareness workshop for a morning instead of getting 3 points.

Fantastic, entertaining, informative and really made me think about how easy it is to be a crap driver when you actually think that you are really good.
