The CTEK Multi XS7000 it is then!! I've had a look and it's more expensive but it'll hopefully last a few years so probably worth the extra investment.
Cheers everyone. :)

Removing the battery over winter

Hi everyone - I got some great advice on storing my Zed over winter, thanks everyone. One more question - if I remove the battery to store indoors will my Zed lose it's memory i.e. service data etc? I would imagine that the battery won't be connected until March/April when the roads are clear of the...

Lifting my Zed off the deck

Hi everyone - this weekend I'm putting my Z3 3.0i away for the winter and have been advised to take the weight off the wheels to avoid tyre degradation and flat spots. Willl it be OK to put axle stands under the jacking points, a friend frowned when I suggested this to him. All advise welcome. Cheer...

Hi there, the broker is Footman James (tel 08433571917), ask for the classic car department. I've had no problems with them but haven't made a claim - you might have to join a vintage car club in order to take advantage of the classic policy but they should advise you. Good Luck and happy Zedding! :...

A little Wiser

Good advice from everyone - thanks. I'll ask my insurers if I need an official from the BMW club or whether a zroadster official will be OK. The £15 fee that SteveH from Chesterfield definitely sounds like good value. Before buying the car I was staggered by the insurance quotes I received - £1200 t...

Vehicle Valuation

Hello All, Purchased my lovely Z3 (will post pics when I work out how to reduce them) and managed to insure it as a classic! Bad point is that I've opted for restricted mileage  good news is that I get a guaranteed value if it is stolen/written off :) . The car has to be indepently valued by a ...

Hi, I'm interested in the screen. Working in BD4 but live in BD20 so BD16 must be somewhere on my route home. Give me a ring on 07879891068 and I'll come and have a look.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for some sound advice - I've had motorbikes stolen and recovered before and on reflection I would have preferred not to get them back. Decided not to subsribe to the tracker, I will try to park it in safe places when we're out. One chap at work with an MG never locks his or leaves th...

Tracker

Hi All - bought my Z3 a few weeks ago, it's been fitted with a tracker from new (2000). Rang them up and it will cost £80 to send a chap out to inspect the car plus either £135 per annum or a one-off payment of £350 for the life of ownership  . The tracker system sounds like a good idea but I'm...

Thanks

Thanks everyone for the advice - I'll be phoning the dealer tomorrow to ask what they are prepared to do. The option of taking it to a local garage and passing the cost on is definitely appealing as they were a Seat dealer and I have to question their knowledge of BMW's. We'll be signing up for the ...

I'm a new owner and need help!!

Bought a 2000 Z3 3.0 yesterday, always liked them and this one ticked all the boxes (47K, one owner, M interior and wheels etc). It was taken as p/x at the garage where I bought it, they carried out an inspection 1 service + oil change and everything worked perfectly during the test spin. On the way...
