thanks guys. Sorry about the calculation error, as stated, I dont really understand how these things work  hence the post. Yes, the spacers are 20mm and are being custom made to have the correct bore size on each size, so no spigot rings are needed to keep the wheels hubcentric. The wheels are...

Will an 8X18" wheel with an offset of ET20 fit a Z3
Hi I know there is a lot of information on here about wheel fitment, but it is a topic I know very little about and wondered if anyone could offer some specific advice about these wheels. The wheels I have are 18" with a PCD of 5X100 and a bore size of 73.1mm. I know that the Z3 has a PCD of 5X...

Power Steering Fluid
Just wanted to check, am I right in thinking that the Z3 uses ATF in the Power Steering pump, rather than standard Power Syeering Fluid?
If so are there any particular recommendations on which brand etc is best to use?
Thanks

Re: Drain Plugs
so the block plug is accessed from below then, theres no way it can be seen from above?Mike Fishwick wrote:Yes - It'sgood practice to replace the platic radiator plug, and the sealing washer on the block drain plug - which is at the back of the block, on the driver's side.

coolant change on 1.9
Hi guys After doing a search I have found some useful tips, but the only step by step I could find was for the 2.8 engine. Does anyone have a basic guide to flushing and refilling the coolant on a 1.9? I am fairly competamt so it doesnt have to be too detailed, just a guide as to where the drain plu...

Doesn't putting the key in the ignition and starting disarm the alarm? My memory is a little rusty. I think the alarm and immobiliser are entirely independant. The chip in the key de activates the imobiliser (hence why you cant start the car with a screwdriver) but as far as I know the actual alarm...

the problem is that the alarm is armed and neither fob is being recognised so I cant turn it off and as far as I know, the reprogramming can't be done until the alarm is disarmed (is this right?) I was under the impression that it was the jumping of the pins that was needed to dis arm the alarm in o...

I have had the problem with a dealer fitted alarm (seperate fobs) going out of sync after the batteries in the fobs went dead. I have followed the instructions on here as best as I can but when ever I jump the pins either nothing happens or the alarm just goes off. Can someone please confirm if I am...

On what model Z3? I'm guessing if you have fogs, then you have a 1.9, therefore it won't have sidelights on the bumper and one of the connectors is probably for these. Another one may well be for the outside temperature probe. And the third for headlight washers. Anyone think of anything else? Chee...

Just replaced my missing drivers side fog light and dicovered that the loom has 3 ends, only one of which plugs into the fog. Does anyone know what theother two connectors are for? (one standard 3 prong female conector and one wiered round thingy)

Fitting Heated Seats To Previously Non-Heated Model.
Hi I have bought a new set of red leather seats from a 2000 Z3. These ones are heated. I was just going to replace my none heated ones and just leave them non heated. However, I have been pondering and wondered if it is possible to fit them as fully working heated seats to my 97? Can anyone offer an...

The way I did the adjustment is as follows: 1. Remove the two catches that hold the bonnet down (you may be able to just de-activate them by wedging open the bonnet release lever. 2. Put a blob of vaseline onto the heads of each of the 4 rubber stoppers. Lower the bonnet gently and see whether all ...

no strut brace but good thinking, I have had that problem with other cars in the past, the clearance can be minute. I am hoping the main problem can be rectified with a new 'springy bit' for the bonnet catch. I will be checking it first thing and will let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help ...

thank you for the pointer. I was aware of the hex bolt adjustment, but cant really see how that will help me as it only alters that height of the middle of the bumper and my problem is at the ends. As it happens, there is virtyally no gap between the bumper and the bonnet in the mid section, it clos...

This is the best I can do: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v698/flairman/20-03-10_1458.jpg I have had the bumper off completely by removing the two h...
