Ran the car to full temp this morning top hose to thermostat is nice and hot bottom hose is stone cold. Tried bleeding yesterday, would it be the stat that has gone.

Cooling system

Can anyone please help.I have 97 Z3 and the temp is going up to normal and under normal driving the heater works fine,when it idles tho heat goes cold.

Hi guys some help is needed please.I am trying to get hold of a heater blower motor for my Z. I have replaced the resistor and everything was working fine for the last 6 months.If you switch on with a new fuse and run it on say speed 3 then put it down to 2 the fuse blows.Winters coming upon on soon...

Had no luck with the soldering it lasted a few days a tbh I'm not the greatest solder :).After entering my chassiss No into real oem I ordered the new resistor only to find it's the wrong one. I checked the part number on the real oem and ordeded it came the next day.I stripped it down really easy only to find the part is the wrong one.On inspection of the the one I removed I found it to be a little corroded and one of the springs had become detached.So I've cleaned it all up and re-solde...

Blower switch

Can anyone please help. The blower switch in my 97 1.9 z3 fuse keeps goin. I've noticed tho that the blower switch works on position No 4 only. Would it be that a new switch is gonna be needed or could it be something else.

well I never.I wouldn't have believed it but thanks to bennyboy1, I finally got round to doin the oil service and the starting problem has gone :D .would't have thought an oil service would make any difference but its fixed 8-) 8-) 8-)

Cam shaft sencors

Can anyone tell us how many camshaft sencors there are on 1997 1.9 m44 z3. I have replaced the one at the front of the engine and has made little difference is there another at the rear of engine.

Been on phone to sytner Leicester £199 for insp 1 on my 3 series. E46 has a promotion on at the moment,I then questioned about the £419 insp 1 for my Z and basically age of car and no promotions on that vehicle so it is what it is. :evil:

Well carnt believe you were quoted nearly half the price from sytner Coventry. I also called leicester they wanted £419. They took my chassis number as did Cov and were absolutey positive it was an inspection 1 for my 1.9 m44 BLACK Z3 lol. Neadless to say I am buying reset tool and all the stuff to ...

Alloy wheel question

Im looking at a set of new alloys from a Z4 for my 97 Z3 will these fit. I keep reading about offsets but dont know what this means.The once ive looked at have an offset of 34 front and 32 rear what does this mean and if they are no good what kind of offset will I need.Thanks in advance,

Yeah thanks for that. I've really only had the problem since having the head gasket replaced. Used to be fine before.just wondering if any dirt got into injectors and once running it moves around to give clearance for fuel. Stab in the dark really lol

Poor starting from ***cold***

Z3 costing me an absolute fortune at the moment with having new coolant system,head gasket,head skim and new cam sensors.Runs fantastic once started but when cold it sounds like an old steam engine begging for more coal :head: .I need somone to point me in the right direction of getting this problem...

Mine was the same. Then it got so bad it blown the rad cos of an airlock. Problem cured by replacing head gasket.

Tiptopperformance I would defo recommend. Had new cat back fitted yesterday fitted in less than 2 hrs £250. Great friendly service. Only thing is cash is a bit tight at the mo so its a little loud for me not excessive but I will be going back to get the noice reduced.

Thanks for that.Managed to get a look today and found the problem.Front wheel brake sencor wire come loose rubbed on the wheel and worn the wire away :roll: little job for the morning reconnecting.

Brake warning light

Can anyone tell me please why my brake warning light flashes when going over a bumpy surface. I checked fluid that's all ok. Does the warning light give you a silly amount of time before your pads have actually worn.

Wanted 17" wheels must be mint

Im looking for some 17" wheels( must be OE)with good tyres.Really after some 5 spoke not to expensive.
OR a loan set while I get mine refurbed.
Its a bit of a mare at the mo cos my tyres keep going down wear the alloy is losing the paint round the rims.
