yep finishes the car off nicely - standard studs should be fine - found it all a bit of a phaff but gotten used to it now!

mesh is best IMO - even the missus agrees as her hair gets blown about less - visibility is OK but not as good as the roadster.com perspex ones

Love the site - full of great tips etc especially when you live on the edge of the world. You guys are so knowledgeable its scary! Had my zed 6 months, love it but notice a constant but very feint smell of petrol - its not losing fuel (as per mpg) and the BMW main agent couldn't spot anything. Only ...

i do 90% of my driving with the top down and take the missus car if it rains! i have the roof permanently down with a roadster solution cover protecting it in the garage - so agree with the looks argument - better by miles with the roof down!

leave mine down all the time - the tonneau cover is a bit of a faff but makes the zed look soooo nicer! Just put a fitted sheet over for the dust although the best bet is to get one of those special covers by roadster solutions in the US - its on my christmas list!

i've just gone through a very similar dilemma here in NZ - as great as the MX5's are its still a hairdressers car and i don't have a relation/friend/acqaintance/work colleague who won't continue to remind me of that!!

i use a simple touch-up paint like a nail varnish size bottle and brush - $30 from a local spraypainter - just take in the german colour code off the inside of the engine bay and they knock it up!

recommend roadster solutions to anyone - just had a delivery from the US of the velcro peices that repair/protect the seat belt slides - they are real enthusiasts - never knew you could get so many bits for a Zed - got a tonneau cover and the rear window protector much cheaper than via BMW

new owner for a great 2002 2.2 here in NZ - minus a tonneau cover tho and think this would really finish things off nicely - bet the BMW one is an arm and a leg - any ideas on some after market sites?
