Head Gasket blown again?! Advice needed

So after having my head gasket fixed almost a year to the day - it seems its blown again!! The pipe coming from the heater matrix popped off of the engine with a loud bang, refitted the pipe and within 5 miles the engine overheated :( Clearly air or exhaust gas getting into the cooling system again ...

Re: Loss of power

Had the same issue years ago, used a euro car parts Cam sensor and had no effect so ended up sending it back and buying OEM for £108. It improved but I still felt the power wasnt there. When my head gasket blew replaced the Crankshaft sensor and hey presto. Weird. A mechanic I spoke to said the two ...

After digging deeper I found this very informative thread: http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4959 It seems as though this was my issue - battery going completely dead (which I guess would count as it being disconnected) and then the alarm activating and codes being reset so I cant turn ...

Alarm going off continuously when parked

Off the back of replacing the head gasket and a couple of engine sensors, I have another issue! About a day after the fix I woke up to my hazard lights flashing in a pattern - 1 -3 -1 -3 which I thought was odd as no alarm was sounding. I haven't used the alarm for over a year due to never locking m...

I'd seriously consider taking Andy up on the idea to go to Woking and see what he's got. You should be able to pick up a whole MOT failed/accident damaged car for around £500. Of course your issue is getting it home. £100-£250 ish in transporter fees. Still, if you need a few other bits it might be worth thinking about. You also have the option of getting one from an E36 3 Series. Acco...

WANTED: Z3 Engine M44 1.9 140bhp

After head gasket failure and taking the advice off a few of the guys on this forum I've decided to replace the engine.

Looking for a Z3 engine - M44 1.9 140bhp in full running order and in good condition, the lower the mileage the better.

Thanks

I'm doing a 2.2 engine swap now. You just need to be methodical. Mine is taking forever as I'm restoring the whole front end at the same time. However £250+VAT fitted sounds like a good price to me. The Z3 is very easy to swap the engine from, because the whole front of the car unbolts, meaning the engine comes straight out, rather than up-and-over. Get an engine from ebay, an engine crane (I think I paid about £120 for mine), undo a few bolts and away you go. Well, more or less. It sounds lik...

Camshaft Position Sensor. I would put money on it. I had exactly the same symptoms - mis-firing, sudden loss of power, up and down revs etc. To be sure would be worth doing a diagnostic test to see which error codes are thrown up first.
