We had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel done around 1500mls ago,cost was around £700,but I must say it transformed the car,which now feels very very solid and drives like new.

Although I don't post very often I usually have a look at what's going on every couple of days.
This site has been invaluable in assissting with sorting things out with our 97 2.8.

We deliberated for a long time over Z3 or Z4.

Z4 drove like any modern car Z3 was more interesting to drive.

But it was the look both inside and out of the Z3 that sealed the choice.

Driving from Willerby toward the Humber bridge,a bright red Z3 coming in the opposite direction.

Reg No R11 G** My Reg is R1 GWE looked very similar from a distance.

Everything is now sorted,

New clutch,

New DMF

New slave cylinder.

Earls hose.

Not cheap,but the car is now a dream to drive and Joanne is over the moon.

Well had mine done this week at the same time as the new clutch.
The guy who did it for me made up the extension from the slave cylinder,it fit perfect and no leaks.

The new clutch is another story :cry:

Well everything that was replaced was oem bmw,on re stripping the clutch it would appear there was a faulty release bearing which had disintegrated as soon as the clutch was engaged. Me too. I don't understand why the 2.8 seems to be lower priced than the other models. Its got more power than the 2.0 and 2.2 without much impact on fuel economy. It has female to female connections and came with a male male adaptor.
