Re: New airbag fitted..what next?

There are several sensors... The main one being the one inside the car under the center console, and in front of the gear lever. I understand that one is the one which activates the driver airbag and the passenger front airbag. Other sensors are located outside in front of the left and right wheels...

Re: New airbag fitted..what next?

Time for a weekend with the boys ? I will assume you have 2 sets of connecting wires to the dual airbag? If not, then you are missing a connector. The dual system has 2 connecting plugs to be pressed into the rear of the driver airbag, and that the "earth" wire is connected to the back of...

Re: New airbag fitted..what next?

The airbag "make" is unimportant...if the connections are correct for the plug in, then the fault codes just need clearing. I'm not aufait with which computer program is needed, but perhaps you should look on the earlier threads of the week regarding diagnostics days and try to arrange wi...

Re: New airbag fitted..what next?

As far as I am aware the airbag circuit does not need matched to a particular airbag. The airbag circuit is a monitored circuit which means that both stages 1 and 2 will need to be intact otherwise it will show an airbag fault. Hi guys!! I've just fitted a new airbag, replacing a single stage for a dual stage airbag, in a dual stage system. Re: Z3 Dual stage airbag

The steering wheel shouldn't determine the airbag connectors ie; single / dual. The wiring harness to the airbag does that. If you have a single stage airbag there, then yes, you will have a problem. You need to a). change the airbag to a dual stage, or b). Get a complete new wheel with dual stage ...

If the wiring is all intact, then there are three things that need to be in place before the roof will operate: 1) The roof needs to have the front portion lifted which operates the microswitch 2) you need to have your foot on the brake so that the brake light switch is operated and 3) the up/down ...

When my brake caliper 'siezed', the brake pads were being applied to the disc. This is what caused the steering shudder. Well, I eventually got to the source of the problem. This led to the wire being exposed, and earthing off the inside of the ...

I had this problem too, and I knew it was the brake caliper. How? Well, a tell tale sign is a greater amount of brake dust on one wheel in comparison to the other. Another is that the steering pulls to one side, whichever side is sticking. And yet another is that after driving and applying the brake...
