DAn do you mean polybushed droplinks ?? not sure about that, i replaced them with new. But i have a cunning plan to replace the droplinks with rose jointed versions, so they are then adjustable for length. Mark I fitted polybushed droplinks on the past impreza I like the idea that they last forever...

Cant say i've notice a difference with mine lowered, with respect to the ARB its obviosly under more tension but it hasnt caused an issue I agree 100% Mark At some point I would expect the droplinks to fail any how as they are over 10 years old. I do believe that This will come sooner with the new ...

If the anti roll bar is under tension when the car is standing on level ground you have a problem. Lowering the suspension makes no difference, the roll bars should be free of tension. Hence the reason for fitting adjustable height arb`s. The new struts are physically 35mm shorter therefore the hub...

You sorted it then !! looks much better. have you had it set-up yet or at least tracked ? Hello Mark, I haven`t had the tracking or any thing else looked at as yet. It pulls dead straight when driving. The front wheels look straight up with no camber that I can see, as for toe in/out I can`t tell. ...

Spax Coil-overs and alloy wheel refurb

After test driving the new brakes I installed I quickly realised that the handling of my Z3 was severley lacking. With this in mind I set about looking for options. Eventually I settlet on a Spax SVX Adjustable set up which comprises of Coil overs for the front and a more traditional spring and damp...

The brakes have bedded in now after a long trip to the north. There has been no brake squeel and the brakes feel like they could make the car do an endo should the traction hold. The brakes are really very good and they have highlighted the short-comings in the current suspension and tyre set up. :D...

I haven`t even considered the Diff at this point ?. I was hoping that the back end will be strong enough initially and that traction would be acceptable initially.
I would most likely upgrade when something fails.

Uprated rear brakes fitted today

While waiting for all the engine components to arrive I have set about uprating a few parts. Today I worked on the rear brakes. I installed new EBC discs, red stuff pads, Goodridge hoses, new shoes and spring kit. The job was really straight forward, pure nuts and bolts. Before: Scored and worn plai...

Turbocharged 1.9 Conversion Underway

I have started this thread as I am turbo charging my M44 1.9. In the past I have managed really big power numbers from small 4 cylinder Turbo engines and hopefully I will see over 300 horsepower by the time I have finished. The plan is to completeley rebuild the engine with high end internals loweri...

If friction is increased equally between front and back then the increase in braking performance will be similar front to back. Increasing the size or clamping force of rears without doing similar upfront will cause the back to lock up. Hence big four or six pots up front under the weight of the eng...

Hello, I have used both Mintex and EBC Red and Green stuff Pads on my old Impreza which I used to drive quite hard. The Mintex are fine for everyday driving and last ages but fade a lot when they are hot. The green Stuff pads with drilled and grooved discs give a big bump in stopping power. But you ...

I am hoping for the full 7200rpm without anything being too stressed initially. I intend to run at least 10 psi probably more, if everything starts to get too hot then I will opt for a water sprayer for the IC. I really would like to install an oil cooler just because the turbo will be dumping loads...
