This is absolutely normal and yes, the new pads do require a bit of running in time during which they might also bind a little bit. You only need to begin to be worried when your brakes are smoking after a normal drive to work. When racing this is normal too

The problem could be related to the battery terminals even though they are all tight. I had this problem ones with my first car and the symptoms were very much what you describe. If I'm right, its very easy & cheap to fix so you should try this before doing anything else. You need to remo...

I’ve seen this piece when I was doing my alarm system a year ago. The “rubber opening” is one end of a Y-type rubber hose that you can see from underneath the bonnet. There is an electronics box in the rear right corner of the engine compartment. The rubber hose is connected to this electronic box f...

DIY bushing for camber plates?
I just got my self some camber plates for the front and looking at the design, its quite striking how rigit the upper shock fixation is. It's a typical 'metal to metal' design and it looks like it's going to be very uncomfortable and noisy. :? So it got me thinking if I could add a bushing "lay...

This is quite common on all modern cars. The ABS/ESP system is not "taught" to recognize a situation when the car is stuck in snow. So when you're spinning the wheels excessively with traction control on, the systen eventually starts to assume that its faulty and shuts down completely. It ...

Thanks for the nice guide earthwormjim! One question though, did you deactivated the seat belt pyrotechnic tensioner when removing the seats?
(see TIS instructions: http://tis.spaghetticoder.org/s/view.pl?1/01/82/81 )
Also did you have the battery connected while working?
