I used the 3M kit on my Lolvo (notorious for soft headlamps) and couldn't be happier with the results. The kit with the drill attachment is the one to get [WINKING FACE]

When the DMF went on my astravan, it was noisy as hell at idle but fine whilst driving. I believe it's to reduce the "rumble" you get with diesels and larger engines at idle.

Replace the hose clamps with mikalor stainless ones; you'll be surprised how much it brightens up the engine bay! Also, dash wipes bring a good shine to rubber hoses

Sounds very similar to what I had, just easier for you to see under the seat :) From memory, hold the switch in the direction you want the seat to go (down) and give the thread a tap or two with something. That was enough for mine to free up, but had planned to use pliers to turn the thread a couple...

Is it stuck at its lowest position? Mine did that and just needed a wiggle of the mechanism from under the seat. The screw thread had tightened against the motor and jammed it up.

Yeah, I replaced the upper section too at it was badly cracked all over too.
Time + heat doesn't do the rubber any good it seems.

Looks like you connected wire 5 to connector 1 instead of 6 to 1.

Parts fitted, took about an hour after struggling with the jubilee clips on the lower section that attaches to the throttle body

re: Penetrating fluid - I would use plus gas if you can get it, much better at penetrating than WD40 in my opinion... You can get it at the usual motor trade outlets, or at RS components (they have got trade counters about too) Plus gas (overnight) + big hammer = :D Can you get a ball joint splitter...
