I hand stitched up my original roof. As long as you use the existing holes it is easy, all the stiches are an even size and all in the correct place, just needs a bit of patience.

Got my tickets now and read through the rules for the parade lap. 12 to 16 year olds can sit in the front, it is 8 to 12s that have to sit in the back.

Looks like I won't be able to watch from the sidelines after all, oh dear!!

I have just rung to book my car, driver and passenger on to the parade lap and was told as my passenger is between 11 and 16 he will have to sit in the rear seat! Like a fool I was quick to point out that a Z3 doesn't have rear seats and was told in that case he couldn't take part in the parade lap....

They were already connected. There is a wire running alongside the washer water pipe right up to the nozzles hidden under the felt pad underneath the bonnet.

The tester offered to remove the front baffle box and replace with a pipe to fix the hole for £100, I have known him for years though and reccomended I take it away and get a ss one made as it would only go again somewhere else. It is still an option to keep it going another few years.

My zed has just failed its MOT with a leaking exhaust and my emissions test was very similar to yours with CO and HC passing and lambda barely scraping through. I tried some silver lockwood dials, I liked them in the daylight although I had mixed comment from other people.

At night they were awful, very hard to read! I swapped them back after trying them for a month just to be sure. I might have some photos somewhere on one of the other computers.

Hi,

Once the airbag light is on it will stay on even if you fix the fault, you will need a reset tool to clear the light. You can also read a fault code which helps work out what is actually wrong!

I have a BMC CDA fitted to my 2.8. I am happy with it although I think the Simotas are much nicer to look at and probably work better with the inlet fitting snugly up to the headlight. I fitted mine at the same time as the M50B25 inlet manifold so can't comment on any improvement purely from the CDA...

Just booked tickets for this one, it is showing 8 zeds attending at the moment.

There are only 126 cars registered altogether so far, I think people may be waiting to see what the weather brings, although it is free to book!

I have got some self adhesive pads, the type you use to protect hard floors from furniture legs, stuck to the underside of the bonnet where it meets the alarm switch to make sure it it pushed down far enough. Not very high tech but it does work (until one falls off and it starts again! :roll: ).

I had an OEM rear window fitted to my 14 year old roof last year, and it fits perfectly.

Hi Veef,

My '97 M52B28 single vanos has twin pipes from the manifolds into a single cat and single pipe through 2 silencers and twin tailpipe.

I managed to get my fan off without the special tool, I used a long 32mm spanner and gave it a couple sharp hits with a rubber mallet and it loosened off no problem. I did replace the serpentine belt afterwards though. I am not sure that this is a 'recommended' method though, I was getting desperate...

How did you stop the brake fluid pouring out whilst you disconnected the caliper? Did you clamp the rubber hose? No I didn't clamp the hose, I put 2 or 3 layers of clingfilm over the reservoir opening and screwed one of the caps from the Easibleed over to create a seal, nothing came out of the hose...

I have had a play with the online quote machine and I just need to get older quicker to get cheaper insurance!!

If I was 50 it would be £475, and at 60 down to £350 (I'm afraid it goes up again at 70!).
