sounds like the water pump to me, impellor spinning on the shaft when it has to do some work, ie when the pipes are all coupled up again. Not an uncommon failure either. What does the temp guage do? The temp gauge goes up to normal. Its just had a new thermostat the old one had the 2 plastic lugs b...

I think that the matrix is accessible through the left hand side of the centre console below the knee bolster. Buy Haynes BMW 3 Series 1992 through 1998 which include Z3. Thanks for that not sure what the problem is, both hoses to the heater are hot but does not seem to get round the matrix well th...

Couldbe the system needs bleeding? First place I'd look if the heater was working OK before you changed the thermostat? HTH no the heater was not working before thats why i changed the thermostat cheers Stu GSF is a good source of consumables, like a thermostat. BMW tend to do these at reasonable p...

gookah wrote:Could be the water pump, where the impellor is slipping on the shaft, and not providing enough flow through the normal resistance of the heater matrix.
yes its a possible but the flow and return hoses to the heater matrix are very hot!! so i think the matrix must be partly blocked

What could this be? How can I tell if the drivers door actuator is gubbed and causing the short? Had ...
