Hi guys, happy Christmas. I've bought a hardtop which I've fitted it with relative ease, but the question I'm asking is, I'm putting the side plastic trim that encases the rear speaker and the seat belt mechanism do I have to cut out a piece of it to put it back as the hardtop bracket seems to be pr...

Hi everyone, I was looking on eBay the other day and one person was selling some interior parts including a centre console with a cut out for a double din stereo. I was just wondering has anyone done this to there Z3 and if so how difficult would it be to do? Thanks

Re: Windscreen Wipers rubbing on bonnet.
Had similar problem couple of years back, scratched the paint off the bonnet. The cause was that the wiper arm was slightly bent. Took it off the car, bent it carefully in a vice and it did the trick.

Hi, depends on your engine, I changed my thermostat and belts cos you have access to that area while the radiator is off. Not a hard job to do at all.

Re: Driver side (forward & back) electric seat motor failure
Hi. I had the exact problem on both seats. I took the motors off the seats and removed the housing cover, gave them a squirt of wd40 and gave the brushes a clean with emery cloth and hey presto, two working seats. Not difficult to do just time and patience.

Hi. I noticed yesterday that the alarm led on the front centre console was brocken. When I took it out there were three wires soldered to it, does anyone know what the third wire would be for? Thanks.

Thermostat replacement
Hi all. I want to change the thermostat in my 2.0 m52 zed because the needle hardly leaves the blue zone and the blower only throws out lukewarm heat. My question is will any stat do or do I need a pay through your nose stat?

Re: seat raise and lower
Hi. I had the same problem when I bought my z. After being told by my local BMW dealer that it could cost hundreds I decided to give it a go myself. I took the motors off and then opened the case gave a spray of wd40 gave the bushes a nudge and hey presto the motors work like a charm.

Thanks for the response, I'll chech all the sensors. When I said I loose power I didn't mean volt I meant speed when putting my foot on the accelerator. I don't know if it's coincidence but I seem to have lousy oomph.

Hi. I've just become a proud owner of a 2000 2 litre z3. All was going great till yesterday when the seats stopped moving. The day b4 I put the driver side seat in a comfy position then the next day the seat was right to the back and the battery was flat. Charged the batt ok but the seat won't move ...
