Re: Z1 in Carfest South Auction - 29th August

Really sorry to lose you, I hope we'll see you again anyway.

And, thank you for all your help - I wouldn't have even considered going on the Technical Day (which was fantastic) without your encouragement.

Please do let us know what gets put in the garage :wink:

Put in a message on eBay, got a very quick response. Looks like it's still available. Standard spec (not Luxus), if that matters. But there's no fitting kit - he is literally selling the actual hardtop, period. Any suggestions on where to find a fitting kit? If not (& I'm guessing not), then it's no...

I may be wrong, but I don't believe that the UK RRP changed during the production run.

Just for context, it was almost exactly the same price as the original Lexus LS400.

I have the UK 3 Series price list from September 1990 here (sad... ).

UK RRP for the Z1 is quoted there as £36,925.

Pat, you obviously got a -very- good discount.

Just for comparison, the E30 M3 listed at £28,200.

What Jet said. Especially the last bit. I understand the seats are particularly fragile things - do any other BMW seats fit the Z1 if you wanted to use it a bit more regularly and not mess up the originals? Just in case you didn't already pick this up, the seats themselves are fine. They're also ext...

@Rodestarr:

The guy who looks after mine says he's just checked with both BMW GB and BMW Classic and neither of them know anything about reprints.

Do you have a part number? Or the name of a dealer who says he can get them or has them in stock? Wishing I'd followed up sooner now.

Thanks for the very detailed response. I'd thought the cloth was sold in packs sized for a pair of seats, I hadn't realised that you had to choose how much to order. Bit of a dilemma, then.
